I mean is the naba considered amature even though you have jody who competes with them, nfpb i have seen sellars and Scott mendes at these events so what constitutes an amature rider.

Good question! We might need to add a new topic area for other professional associations. The ones that you mentioned I would not consider amateur rodeo. I would consider amateur college rodeo or below. Associations for those under 18 would fall into this category. Does this make sense? I am not as familiar with the amateur ranks and structure so there maybe a better definition. Let me know if you have any ideas and also if we want to add a new area to discuss other professional associations.

Terri i always believe we need to have other areas mentioned i mean i will be going down to forsyth this wed. to see Jody and this part of the naba so yes i believe we should add a spot for other associations.

I added a new topic for other professional associations. I don't think we will have enough posts to warrant a separate topic for each association so I made a general one. I one association gets a lot of posts about it we will look at making a separate section like we did for the CBR.

Used to be that if you ever collected money as a prize, you were no longer an amature (that's why high school & colleges gave out buckles, breast collars, and saddles). In recent years, you can collect monies and still be considered an amature unless you make your living at the sport. cowboy4443
