WOW, a LOT of new bulls... I only recognize Bowtech's I-94... Other than that, most of the names I click on seem to be new bulls? Why aren't they bucking more experianced bulls right now? Are they resting them up for the finals?

Justin's not on the list. I know I've hinted that I'm not a fan, but his I do notice when he's not there. I wonder what's up because he's not the type to not show up unless it's serious.

Thanks for posting the draw rossco4worldchamp! Here are the key first-round matchups I have my eye on. Like last week, there are quite a few debut bulls. Enjoy!
Bryan Richardson vs. JR's Jacket B-Rich didn't finish too well in Jacksonville last week, but he had a 9th and 11th-place finish in his two previous events. His first-round bull this week is 4C's Bucking Bulls' JR's Jacket. This bull has been out four times on the BFTS this season and has been ridden three times. The average ride score has been 87 points. This should be a perfect draw for the first round, and Bryan Richardson should be somehwere in the mid-to-high 80s. My Pick: Bryan Richardson
Harve Stewart vs. Squaw's Dream Harve Stewart has been pretty inconsistent this season, but he is coming off a second-place finish last week in Jacksonville. He has drawn Squaw's Dream of 4C's Bucking Bulls in the first round this week. This bull has been ridden once in six BFTS outs this season, and the ride score was 87.5 points. The bull had a bad first out this year (37.75), but every other out since then has been marked at least 43.25 with a high of 45.25. This one could definitely go either way, but I'm going with the bull this time. My Pick: Squaw's Dream
Luke Snyder vs. Charmed I'm Sure Luke Snyder had a good stretch at the beginning of the season, but he has struggled a little as of late. This week, he has drawn Charmed I'm Sure of Diamond G Rodeos, Inc. This bull is one of the most experienced PBR bulls in the first round. He has been out seven times on the BFTS this year, and he was ridden only once for 90 points. At the beginning of the year, I would have picked Snyder. But right now, I have to go with the animal athlete. My Pick: Charmed I'm Sure
Mike Lee vs. Mo Mike Lee was riding very well a month or two ago, but he has cooled off a little lately. This week, he has drawn somewhat of an unknown bull in Chumley Cattle Co.'s Mo. This will be the bull's BFTS debut, but in his two outs on lower tours lately, he was marked a 44. That will be right up Lee's alley, and he will be near the top of the leaderboard after the first round. My Pick: Mike Lee
Nick Landreneau vs. Hypnotic Nick Landreneau is another guy who has struggled recently, but his first-round bull is one he can win the round on. He has Ryan McClure's Hypnotic. In four BFTS outs this season, the bull has been ridden three times for an average ride score of 90 points! He has had a shaky out or two as of late, but he should be pretty good this weekend in Oakland. I have a good feeling Landreneau will break out of his mini slump and be near the lead. My Pick: Nick Landreneau
Reese Cates vs. Never Enough Reese Cates didn't get anything going last weekend, but he finished second in Grand Rapids a few weeks back. Cates is also still in the lead in the Daisy Rookie of the Year race as well. This week, he has drawn Never Enough from Chad Berger Bucking Bulls. The bull has only been out once on the BFTS this year, and he was ridden by Ross Coleman for 88.5 points. This is a very solid draw for the youngster, and he will take full advantage of it by ending up in the high-90s. My Pick: Reese Cates
Travis Sellers vs. Blue Boy This will be Travis Seller's BFTS debut, and he possibly has the toughest draw in the first round. His bull will be Blue Boy from Chad Berger and Roger Ward. In 15 BFTS outs this season, the bull has been ridden only twice for an average ride score of 89.5 points. If Sellers rides him, he will definitely make an early statement. That being said, it's not going to happen this time. Blue Boy has flown under the radar a little, and it's time for him to start getting more respect. My Pick: Blue Boy
Valdiron de Oliveira vs. Team Equine's High Roller Valdiron de Oliveira didn't ride any bulls last weekend in Jacksonville, but he is still number two in the world. This week, he has a tough first-round draw in Kelly Bowcutt's Team Equine's High Roller. In three BFTS outs this season, the bull is unridden with an average bull score of 44.67 points. After Oakland, he won't be unridden anymore. Valdiron will not only ride him, he will win the round in the process. This one is going 90! My Pick: Valdiron de Oliveira
The Final Say That's all I have for this week, and as always, feel free to post some matchups of your own. Or if you disagree with any of mine, let me know. Thanks for reading and enjoy this week's event in Oakland!

Travis Sellers might surprise you. McKennon will have a good weekend too. Barney Rubble will be in the top 5 or maybe 10 when it's over.

With Justin electing not to attend - that is from the PBR with no reason known. Cincinnati is included. I hope that Reese can come away with a good finish. He is in my fav for the Rookie award. I expect Kody to step up, could this be his time.

Hopefully Justin McBride didn't get hurt in the past week or so because I would never wish injury on any of these guys. Hopefully he is just missing for personal reasons, and everything is ok. His World Champ status allows for a certain amount of exemptions, and maybe that's what's going on here.
Switching to the bull side of things, I'm interested to see if Chumley Cattle Co. will have Dr. Proctor in Oakland. His last out was in April, and hopefully he is still bucking. I know he wasn't his old self the last few trips, but he was still a tough bull to get by. And the ride scores were still in the mid 80s. I'd personally like to see a few more 45+ scores out of him, but that's just me. Does anyone know the status of Dr. Proctor?

Rock Crusher Big Mike Charlie Bullware Blue Boy Dippin Dot Major Payne Say I Won't Gunner Team Equine's Evil Forces Cooper White Magic Bad Blood All In Troubador Apache Leap Copperhead Slinger
You know the short-go round will be loaded when God's Gift, Sir Patrick, etc. are in the second long-go round. I'm looking forward to it.

I guess his 43-point bull score (Reese Cates rode him for 86 points) in Grand Rapids got him booted out of the short-go round. Sir Patrick has been solid all season, and that was definitely one of his worst trips of the season. I say put him back in the short-go round, but that's just me. The second round will definitely have some bull power.

Well, I guess 5 for 8 will have to do as far as my picks go this week. I'd rather it be 7 for 8 like last week, but oh well. I'm looking forward to watching tomorrow's second round and short go.

What a relief to see him win. I was getting nervous.
I have to ask what everyone's take is on White Magic? I'm one of the very few people who thought he had an off night when Mike Lee rode him and I wasn't impressed with him this time around either.
Any thoughts?
Aside from that, the short go had some amazing bull power tonight. I thought all three Brazilians rode brilliantly.
