I hate to detract us all from what's been going on lately, between Flint's heart attack (get well, Flint!), the suicides in Wyoming (I was really sad to hear that), and the death of actress Natasha Richardson (very tragic, that case), but we gotta look forward to this weekend's event in Tacoma. If anything, me detracting us is hopefully a good thing. It's the 7th year on tour for this event, always a great one, and the draw for round 1 looks good too:

39. Wiley Petersen Shotgun Willie Ross Coleman
40. Zack Brown Banana Basin Red Knection K Bulls
And now for some match-ups of my own.
Aaron Roy on Team Equine's Dakota Country: Where's this bull been? Other than a couple of appearances last year, this Ross Coleman bull that we know so well has been kinda out of the picture since 2006. He is as rider-friendly as you will get in this round, ridden 11 out of 14 times. Aaron's been struggling, but this is the kind of bull he needs, and the kind of bull he should be able to ride. My pick goes to Aaron.
Ben Jones on Dog Pile: Good to have the dancin' Australian back on tour! Unfortunately, this is not the kind of draw he needs, especially when he's been blanked thus far in 2009. The bull has only been ridden 2 out of 13 times, and it'll be 2 out of 14 with this match-up. He's tough to figure out. Dog Pile gets the win here.
Kevin "Jock" Connolly on War Zone: Rank draw for a long go-round. He's been covered 6 out of 16 times, and scores are kind of all over the place. Jock needs to get something going here, but this isn't the kind of draw he'll get along with. War Zone gets the edge on this one.
Michael Manes on Fat Lip: Michael's another guy who's been struggling on the BFTS. This Kelly Bowcutt bull has not yet been ridden in two tries, and unfortunately, Michael won't be the first to ride him either. Besides that, this bull can brag that he's bucked off Marchi (if that is, bulls could brag). I'm going with Fat Lip.
Mike White on Bible Bender: This bull's only been out once, but he was covered for a good score in Sacramento. On the other end of the spectrum is a rider who needs no introduction. Mike's been kind of hit-and-miss, up-and-down, hot-and-cold, whatever term you wanna use for his riding this season. I think, however, that Mike should be able to stick it on this bull and challenge for the go-round win.
Sean Willingham on Golden Ghost: The riders are 1-for-3 on this Don Kish bull, but the one ride was a good one. I've also seen this bull buck at PRCA events and he can be a rank little dude. Sean's due for not just a good ride or a go-round win, he is due for an actual event win. The bull should spin into his hand, and I think Sean will have no problem with this one. I'm picking Sean here.
That's all for now. Can't wait to see what Cody (or anyone else) has for us. I look forward to this weekend!
