Hey Nat.. You'll get to see Kody an extra night at the finals, the PBR and Randy Bernhard aren't so bad afterall!!!
PBR will add an additional NBC broadcast date of World Finals action
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 26, 2005) Due to the thousands of fans that will not see the PBR 2005 Built Ford Tough World Finals on Dish Network, the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) will purchase an additional hour on NBC on Sunday, November 13 at 2 p.m. EST to air World Finals action.
Stated CEO of the PBR, Randy Bernard on the recent development, "It is very disappointing that the PBR and its athletes dedicate their year to providing the very best sports and entertainment action to their loyal fans only to be let down. Losing 4,000,000 households on the eve of the Built Ford Tough World Finals as the result of a negotiation between the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) and DISH is unfair to our fans, our sponsors, and the PBR cowboys. We feel compelled to make it up to each and every one of them by purchasing an additional hour on NBC," added Bernard.
"I would also like to thank NBC for making a time slot available to us at such a late date, and to our sponsors for stepping up to the plate with their advertising support. I must also thank our fans for being so loyal. The thousands of emails and phone calls that we have read this week did not go unnoticed," continued Bernard.
As many disappointed fans are aware, Dish Network unexpectedly dropped OLN from its lineup as of Thursday, October 20, catching the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) completely off guard. The abrupt decision on the part of Dish Network stems from a dispute between EchoStar and OLN regarding OLN's placement in a higher-priced channel package by Dish Network. OLN wants the PBR to be a part of a more widely available package on Dish, which also happens to be a lower priced package alternative to consumers.
