I was thrilled when I saw the round two bulls and match-ups WOW! I am now even more excited to be there and see it. Even if I am in the nose bleed seats it will be worth it just to see some of the match ups that are going to happen in round two.
I have not gotten a chance to look at all the draws in more detail yet but it looks like there should be some good first round match-ups too.
Any predictions on the first two rounds based on the draws?
Oh and two big thumbs up to Slade over at ProBullStats. He does an amazing job with his site and the stats. Everything that he has put together for the NFR is amazing as usual and quicker then the PRCA site! Big thank-you to him!

Jarrod Ford drew the best one in the first go, Bryan Richardson rode his first go bull in the past so he has a shot too. Matt drew a nice bull too so look for him to place in the round.
In round two, Reindeer should go into Matts hand, giving him the round win, with DJ Domangue placing second.

Wow. Great matchups. I think Matt will win the the first round on Hemi. Second round depends on what kind of trip Reindeer has. I like Wesley Silcox in the second round, too.

I like both Bryan and Jarrod's first round draws and I think that one of them will win the round, probably Jarrod because of the bull score. I think that Matt will ride Hemi but I don't think that the bull score will be high enough to give him the round win.
My two least favorite draws in round one is Zack Oakes on Taylor Made and Jason McClain on Spring. I just don't think that Zack will be able to stay with him for the full 8. Zack is riding well but this bull has been under some great riders and beat them all. Jason can ride rank bulls (Anyone remember Omaha Extreme Bulls in '03?) but I just don't think that Spring fits him well.
Possible round spoiler-Dustin Elliott.
For round 2
Well this round will really hinge on the Reindeer Matt match-up. The real question will be which Reindeer out will we see? We know that Reindeer does not like Vegas and has had some injuries this year so that could be a factor. Given that it is early in the week though I am guessing we will see a strong out and that Matt will ride him all the way to the Gold Coast and the round buckle!
I also like the match-up of Howdy Cloud on Cooter. I have seen this bull in person a few times this year and he is a great bull. He has a wicked first jump out and turn back but if Howdy can stay with him for that I think he will reach the whistle and see a decent score. I saw the bull almost covered by Spud in Medford and think that the bull will fit Howdy.
I also like Steve Woolsey on Super Cool. This is my favorite bull and is capable of some very high scores. It should be a great match-up.
I love the round 2 draws, the bulls thatf the guys drew will be a challenge for them but all of them I think are capable of covering what they have drawn if they bring their A game. It should be a great round.

I wouldn't say any go-round with Blackberry Wine is as good as the PBR Finals short-go, but hey, to each his own.
Nonetheless, with all the PBR vs. PRCA talk out of the way, the 2nd go-round is definitely worth watching. I'm going to try to stay up tonight and watch, but 10:59 is cutting it close for an old man like myself. But I'll record it if nothing else and watch it in the morning.
Terri, thanks for posting the TV times as well.

I'm talking about the one that was marked "19 and 20.5" at the PBR Finals. He did have a 22.5 outing in his last one though at the PBR Finals, so that's better than the 19.
Other than that though, he is pretty solid.
It looks like he shines when he is in PRCA events, so maybe that's the situation. Maybe he brings his A game to the PRCA.
The pen of bulls for round 2 is great. I didn't mean to take anything away from it, that's for sure. I'm definitely excited to see it. I just thought the short-go at the PBR Finals was pretty darned stacked! And that wasn't including some others that could have been as well (Neon Nights, etc.)

Exactly! I thought the PBRF short go was lacking in bull power as opposed to previous years.
Edgard was 90.5 on Blackberry at the Dallas BFTS. Hopefully Blackberry isnt a "hit or miss" bull like Reindeer has been.
I get off work just in time to see the bull riding tonight!

I thought it was a pretty good round. A couple of really good bulls, a couple of crappers, and the rest were just good bulls. I thought Hi Jinx was the best bull of the round, even with the head slinging. LOTS of effort from the riders, I havent seen that in a long while.

Here's the second round results and the average standings. I didn't get to see the replay, but I wonder if Matt tried to set a trap for Reindeer expecting him to turn back to the right. Reindeer must have felt him and turned left.
Bull Riding 1. Zeb Lanham, Sweet, Idaho, 94.0 points on Andrews Rodeo's Fender Bender, $15,649; 2. Steve Woolsey, Spanish Fork, Utah, 91.5, $12,368; 3. D.J. Domangue, Wharton, Texas, 87.0, $9,339; 4. Jarrod Ford, Greeley, Colo., 84.5, $6,563.
Aggregate 1. Jarrod Ford, Greeley, Colo., 174.5 points on two head; 2. Steve Woolsey, Spanish Fork, Utah, 173.0; 3. D.J. Domangue, Wharton, Texas, 160.5; 4. Zeb Lanham, Sweet, Idaho, 94.0 on one; 5. Zack Oakes, Tonasket, Wash., 88.5; 6. Wesley Silcox, Payson, Utah, 87.5; 7. Matt Austin, Wills Point, Texas, 84.0; 8. Cord McCoy, Tupelo, Okla., 83.5.

Reindeer is even harder to ride when he doesnt turn back! Looked almost like Matt was hoping for him to go right, oh well. Zeb and Steves rides were probably five points too high each, but whatever,
That Hondo bull is a bad cat!

I just wish Reindeer would give us a great trip while in Vegas. He just doesn't have it in him in Vegas and needs to be taken out of the short round. Nobody is going to ride him when he has that junky trip like he did last night.
I loved the Reindeer that we saw LJ Jenkins ride. He was fair, honest, and rideable. But he still put up a great score as well.
Like everyone else mentioned, there were some great bulls, some bad ones, and everything in between. Good first two rounds at the NFR. I'm surprised to see Bryan Richardson struggle so badly. I think that vest and those chaps are messing with his mind. Man, those are bright!
