Yep, those kids that we are making "too big of a deal out of" sure are making waves...Kid Briscoe STUCK it on LYJ, and and the kid who isnt anything special has ridden 9 in a row and pocketed over 70 grand this weekend alone.
This thread goes out to a special someone, if youre reading. How do those words taste?

I think the Columbus event's 2nd round got me fired up more than any bullriding here of late! I was so excited when Travis covered LYJ with such ease, style and finesse, but that was only a momentary high. Then came LJ and the ride that carried him to the win! How cool! I can't hardly wait to see how these guys clean up at the Finals!!! Great job, you 2 young whippersnappers!

So what did they put in the water down there in New Mexico? They must be doing something right in the youth programs in that state to produce some of the great looking riders coming from that area. They both looked amazing this weekend. Not only do they have the talent but they also have the hustle and the try. It is great to see the really great rookie class this year. It will keep the veterans on their toes and will make for overall a stronger competition. It is also provides a great future for the sport. It will be interesting to see how the perform in the bright lights and pressure of Las Vegas.

I may have read it wrong or whatever but i believe that he is in 4th now. here is what i have right now after yesterday.I do not know how the do the top 45 if it is money or points so take this for what is worth.
12. Kody Lostroh 190,358 in 17 events 28. Edgar Olivera 183,763 10 events. 45. R DA Nunez 59,256 5 events 49. LJ Jenkins 122,424 In only five 50. Travis Briscoe 54,457 In an amazing three events.
It will be an all out push to the finish to see who wins roy. I believe Kody will win and olivera will get second but i am not leaving out the 18 year olds they are out of this world.

LJ is now third in the rookie race, around $70,000 behind Kody. Any of the rookies can win rookie of the year if they win or place second in Vegas. ive said it before, and I'll say it again, the rookie race is much more exciting than the world championship race.

Csb- I agree with you... This year the rookie race is extremely exciting. All these new rookies are amazing and like Brett Haber said.... If this is the new face of the PBR is will be exciting!!!
I think these guys are very talented but they also seem really nice. If LJ keeps winning money at this rate... he'll be donating quite a bit to the disaster relief! That is such an amazing thing to do!! WTG LJ!!!

I agree with everyone: That was a very exciting Short Go in Columbus and I really enjoyed those rookies going for it. Love the inexperienced/innocent looks on thier faces after the rides. They are so young and doing so good they don't even have their "Game Faces" worked out yet. Rich

Tennesseerustler, I thought that is where they stood too. But my other half showed me that you have to click on the thing above that that says qualifiying or something. Travis and LJ will both be in Vegas according to that. And LJ is ranked like 10th or something. That is awesome that the youngsters are going to Vegas.

I would love to see Kody win Rookie of the Year. Being a Colorado native its good to finally see our state being represented and we couldn't have asked for a better guy to do the job!
