I dont know if you all had heard but I thought id post, I heard from a reliable source that High Tide fractured a vertabra in a fight with another bull so more then likely we wont ever see him buck again. What a tough loss for Cody King but the good news is they think they can still save him and use him for breeding purposes. He was having a great year and I will sure miss him bucking.

Oh man, that is awful news! At the beginning of the year, I thought High Tide was frontrunner for bull of the year. And then he left to do a little breeding.
But I was wondering where he was a few weeks ago when Camo, Slim Shady, and his other buddies were bucking and he was nowhere to be found.
That is crappy news in my opinion, and I wish Cody King and Paradise Farms the best luck. And hopefully, there is a small chance this isn't true...
He was a bucking dude!
Thanks for the update TexasRider9, and it's good to see you back in action here.

Its been a bad week for the bull industry. Scream machine, a former short go bull, died earlier this week. High Tide almost had to be put down, but is able to walk now. Its doubtfull that he will ever buck again, but look at Hotel California. High Tide might have been hurt in a fight a few weeks ago, nobody knows for sure. And another piece of bad news....Panhandle Slim, one of the best sires in the industry died today.

It's been a bad YEAR for the bull industry! I don't wanna really say it but I thought I'd point it out - LYJ and Blueberry Wine (as well as Slick Willy and supposedly Hammer) are retired or will be retiring (though it's good so they can breed, and LYJ and BW can still retire at the top of their game), and some great bulls died this year, including Hotel California and Grey Cat and ultimately, Dillinger. Then I also hear how Reindeer Dippin had gotten injured recently (but hopefully he will be back this weekend!), and now this piece of bad news comes along - and I'm shocked to also hear about Panhandle Slim (especially him) and Scream Machine! This is really really sad, and as for High Tide, I hope he'll be able to breed very well because he was a great bucker (and I would've put him in the list for Bull of the Year too)!
Speaking of Slim, where is Rooster, his brother? He hasn't been around since Alburquerque! This year has not been good to the bull owners and stock contractors, and starting next year, the face of the PBR and bull riding will be changed because of these events. Who will be the top now and who will the next stars be?....that's my question right there.

Don Kish's bull Winchester (owned by XS Ranch) also died this evening. He was one of the few Mr. T sons still around.

That's awful. I was watching PBR last week and talking to my mother about Blueberry retiring and I had to find a new favorite bull. I mentioned that I really liked High Tide. Just my luck. Considereing when I first heard about his retirement the first bull I had picked was Hotel California. It's a bad year for the bull industry and a bad year for me picking a favorite bull.

DEPRESSING. NOT ONLY HAS IT BEEN ROUGH FROM THE LOSS OF BULLS....BUT CONTRACTOR AS WELL. FREDDY CORDELL WAS GREAT, AND IS GOING TO BE GREATLY MISSED. HOPEFULLY WE WILL SEE SOME MORE GREAT BULLS AND CONTRACTORS. AND MAYBE WE CAN KEEP THE ROUGHER BULLS SEPERATED SO THAT THEY WILL STOP HURTIN EACH OTHER.

Just now reading this. Bummer. High Tide was my favorite bull period. Now he's gone. Guess I'll look for another to pull for. RIP High Tide. You were a might one! Rich

He's not dead, but he did fracture a vertabra in a fight with another bull, so more then likely his bucking career is over with.
