Big Bucks of Frontier Rodeo. Wardance was second, Kid Rock third, Mudslinger fourth. Its nice to see LYJ out of the running, but I think Blueberry Wine got hosed again.

Well, Blueberry Wine just wasn't around enough near the end of the season. I would have loved to see him buck 15 times in the PBR this season because he looked great when he did buck.
I think the voting was spot-on this season. Big Bucks definitely deserved it, and Wardance was probably second only because he had fewer outs than Big Bucks. Kid Rock is always steady, and Mossy Oak Mudslinger is always steady.
It looks like the riders got it right this time around. Congrats to Big Bucks and Jerry Nelson. Wow, he won the award in his first full year as a bucker, and he is still very young.
I'm looking forward to seeing who will get bull of the finals. I'm going with Neon Nights to win his second BOTF in three years.

I can't argue with any of those picks. All great bulls who had great years.

From the PBR:
Finishing in the runner-up position behind Big Bucks was Taylor Made Bucking Bulls' Smokeless Wardance. Third place went to Roy Carter Bucking Bulls' Kid Rock while D&H Cattle Company and Teague Bucking Bulls' Mossy Oak Mudslinger finished fourth and Reindeer Dippin' owned by Flying U Rodeo Company rounded out the top five.

Jerry said that a private party offered him $35,000 for Big Bucks a while back, and he told them $100,000 was as low as he would go. They called him a "dumb SOB". I bet they are kicking themselves in the butt now!

I am new to the sport but, from what i saw this year how could the riders leave out Deuces Wild. He was much better than Reindeer, He competed more and he had more money won on him so go figure that was a politicians pick.
Big Bucks is the premier bull right now he is just a stud and can only get better. He will not be the Bull of the Finals that honor will go to Deuces Wild.
Blueberry Wine, to show you how new i am i only saw him once and he did nothing for me. There were many more that i thought were better and Little Yellow Jacket not even in the top 5 that was funny. I guess you can only have five that just shows how good the Bull Pool is in the PBR and how bright the future is.
Withy all that said some matchups i am looking forward to in the finals:
LJ Jenkins vs Deuces Wild, Travis Briscoe vs Big Bucks, Kody Lostroh vs Reindeer Dippin, Mike lee vs Wardance.
Those four are the future of american bullriding.

I am SO Disappointed. HOW COULD THEY IGNORE BLUEBERRY WINE again? What a slap in the face to the Herringtons and to Blueberry Wine and to his fans. This bull put in a CAREER of outstanding outs. I am doing the happy dance that it isn't LYJ again though. blech Wardance is an awesome bull. Mudslinger fourth? He is about ready to have them carry the flag on him in the opening ceremonies As we count down towards the finals, I can not believe that this is the last time I will ever see Blueberry Wine. I will never feel about a bull the way I feel about him.

tennesseerustler, great point on Deuces Wild. I forgot all about him. I would definitely put him in third behind Big Bucks and Wardance. Deuces Wild was only ridden twice, one for 93 and one for 90.5. That easily puts him in BOTY contention.
I think he will be there next year. Great observation though, I forgot about him. Maybe all the riders did too. :/

Tenneessee...i hav to disagree with you sayin deuces wild is better than reindeer. Sayin that they won more money on him is a bad point to make because they can only win money on the bulls they ride. dont get me wrong he is a great bull but not better than reindeer. And you must be new to the sport if blueberry wine does nothin for you. Your match-ups are are "no contests" except for one and thats lj jenkins on dueces wild cause that can go either way but travis will buck off big bucks and kody will will buck off reindeer and mike lee will ride wardance..he already proved he could

I'd take Deuces Wild over Reindeer 7 days of the week. That's all I'll say about that one.

Rodeo Cowboy, I am sorry to say that riders like to get on the bulls they can win money on ok. I know that for a fact it has always been that way. Mudslinger is the perfect example of that. You ask any "RIDER" in the pbr and they will say that Mudslinger is a great bull cause you will win the round if you ride him.
Enough on that topic, Now to your point about Reindeer being better than deuces wild i have to say they are about the same. Deuces Wild has apready proved his longevity in the pbr and has already been to more events that reindeer that is why i said what i did. You are entitled to your opinion but i do not have to agree, nor do i. I believe Deuces Wild will be the Bucking Bull of The Finals.

tennessee.... if you look at previous bulls of the year... NONE are bulls that riders make a lot of money on. They are rank bulls that have been ridden very few times. If it were which bulls wins them the most then Mossy Oak Mudslinger would have won hands down this year. However, you make it sound as if Mudslinger has always been ridden frequently... this year is the first year he has been ridden so consistently. In previous years he was rank and very few guys got passed him. The other reason guys like to draw him is because he is an honest bucker and doesn't pull tricks.
BOTY is usually a bull who has been rarely ridden and every guy wants a shot at him. Hence, LYJ winning 3 years in a row... whenever they did interviews the guys would always say "I want a shot at him."
Dueces Wild is a great bull but I don't know where you get that he has proved he has longevity, this is his first year on the BFTS. When I think of Longevity I think BBW, LYJ, Cash, etc.. In addition Dueces Wild has only had one more out than Reindeer this year. Honestly neither one of them were in the running because they weren't out enough and politics. Cotton Rosser knew long before the voting that Reindeer wouldn't win.
I am a little confused as to why Big Bucks won though.. he is only 28th on the list for bull rating scores this year. He is a great bull but Mudslinger, Wardance, LYJ and the other older bulls are above and younger bulls like Shane, Night Moves, Just a Dream and Night Life are all above him too... oh well, I like Big Bucks but am just confused.

I guess Longevity was the wrong word. What I am trying to say is that he has proven to be a regular in the pbr. Reindeer and his owners are still confused about where they want to buck him. I believe that Deuces Wild will win BOTY next year.
Then about Mossy Oak vs LYJ. Both bulls are great and have a legacy that will be hard to match. therefore i will not say one over the other. they are great.

The Morenos arent confused about were they want to buck him. They are stock contractors, not bull owners, meaning they haul bucking bulls, horses, and timed event cattle to rodeos. Thats how they make a living. Why travel across the country hauling one or two bulls for around $500 plus the feed and mileage pay when you can produce a whole rodeo in your home state or very close to it?
Why was Big Bucks BOTY? Ft. Lauderdale - 47 points. Tulsa - 46 points. Kansas City - 47.5 points, which was the highest marked bull score of 2005. All the big names have tried him, and none of them got it done. Jerry Nelson isnt involved in the political spectrum. He hauls bulls to anywhere that will pay him. Politics didnt win BOTY this year, a bucking SOB did. I think Reindeer is a better bull than BigBucks, but other than that, he is a legit Bull of The Year.

Kelly, that bull ratings list is WELL OVERRATED.
I haven't checked that thing out in awhile because it was always so inconsistent.
I can't say Big Bucks has been the best bull this year because there have been so many great ones. That being said, Big Bucks has probably been the most consistent bull of the rank ones and deserved to win the award.
I personally think Kid Rock is the only one that could have beaten him out for the title. Wardance just wan't out enough, and Mudslinger was ridden too many times this year. And LYJ and some of those others ranked above Big Bucks on that bull ratings list have been very inconsistent this season.
Isn't that bull ratings list their career numbers? I don't think it's their current season numbers by any stretch of the imagination. That's why bulls like Night Life are ranked higher than Big Bucks.
