I know we've gone over who people think has a chance as bull of the year on this site already, but what does everyone think of the new system?? Instead of only using the number of votes to decide the bull of th year, it's going to come down to the top bulls that were voted. Those top bulls will compete in a final round and the bull with the highest bull score will win bull of the year. I think this could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing. Personally, I like having the riders decide the bull of the year. It seems fitting... The PBR is trying to ensure that the absolute best bull wins, but every bull can have a bad night. In my opinion, the award should go to the bull that's been the best overall throughout the entire season. Just my two cents...

I like the old system. Why can't they go on a points system like the riders? They can take the bull's top 7 events or something (because I know that none of the bulls make it to all of the events). Like you said, any bull can have a bad night! The rider's world championship is not based on one ride, I don't htink the bull's should either...

what happens if the bull that is the best all year, has a bad time at the finals? we have seen it with the riders, and the same could happen with the bulls. i think they should look at the entire year for the bulls, just like for the cowboys. imo.

I dislike that the decision for bull of the year is based on Finals Performance. Just as I don't like the fact that the finals are worth so many points for the riders. The BOY should be the most consistent. I understand the desire to remove it from being just a popularity contest but I think there are better ways that would take into consideration consistency without making it based just on the finals. I would hate to see a bull lose the bull of the year due to fouling himself on the gate or slipping in the arena.

The bull riders and stock contractors voted on the top 5 bulls and those bulls are the ones who have a chance for bull of the year. So, it's a little of both - votes and performance.

Yes but it still means that of the top 5 bulls the one that is selected as bull of the year will be based solely on their performance in Las Vegas.

I definitely think it would be better to take the top 5 bulls with the most votes and take their best scores from the entire year. That seems fair.

;D Do you think the bulls know they're in a playoff? LOL!
It will create more interest for me (the viewer) when these bulls come up.
