Justin Announced today from Las Vegas that he will retire at the end of this season. His last rides will be in Vegas. A true champion he will leave at the top of his game and will be greatly missed by many.
So what are some of your favorite Justin McBride moments and memories?

Holy smokes, this is the craziest thing I've heard since becoming a PBR fan several years ago! I wonder if that's the reason he has missed a few events in the past month or so.
That being said, he is one of the greatest PBR riders of all time, and his accomplishments speak for themselves. And like you said, he is going out on top, and that's commendable for sure. Wow, I still can't really believe I'm reading this.
As for favorite McBride memories, the ride on Camo to win the 2005 World Title is always near the top of the list. He wasn't going to let go, that's for sure. His rides on Big Bucks, Deuces Wild, Chicken on a Chain, Voodoo Child, etc. also come to mind. And he was also the last guy to ride Hotel California which was pretty special to me anyway.
Unbelievable! I wish McBride well in everything he does in the future.

I'm pretty sure I heard him say once that he didn't want to ride for much longer, but I didn't expect him to go out this early.
PBR is losing another great rider this year and I'm sure that behind the chutes is going to feel odd w/o their presence. I'm sure that his family, no matter how supportive they were, will be relieved to have him home more often and out of harm's way. From everything I've heard, he's a great husband and father.
I've only been watching since 2007, so I don't really have a big Justin memory, but there were two moments in Anaheim last year that I'll always remember. One was watching him with his wife and Addison in the hotel lobby and the other was at the arena when I saw him get down on one knee to talk to a young fan--a little girl who couldn't have been more than 5. He was very attentive to her and it warmed my heart to see it.
I wish him well and hope to see him in the commentator's booth from time to time in the future--I enjoyed him there even more that JW.

....wow. This announcement came out of nowhere to surprise me. I didn't figure it'd be this early. Sure, he's got two world titles and is loaded for bear, but I didn't think he'd say goodbye already. But he's got his reasons - if he wasn't having fun, he didn't want to go on. It'll be tough without him riding, but hey, he did what he loved and I look forward to hearing him in the booth if in fact he goes there.

Since this is a "happy" thread about Justin, I won't say much other than the fact that I hope this doesn't cast a shadow over Adriano's retirement.
My favorite Justin memory (OK, so I'm not a Justin fan, but I do have a favorite moment) is in Chicago in 2006. It was his first event back after his daughter was born and we'll just say he had some beverages and was talked into playing the guitar and singing a bit for us...

Since this is a "happy" thread about Justin, I won't say much other than the fact that I hope this doesn't cast a shadow over Adriano's retirement. Adriano is the only three-time champ in PBR history, but Justin's announcement will definitely cast some kind of shadow over Moraes' retirement. McBride is the defending World Champ, and while it didn't seem to surprise many of his fellow riders, it did send a few shock waves for fans. Adriano's announcement didn't really, so a lot of time will be spent talking about Justin's decision. Adriano is probably going to be the secondary story now. On a side note, the reason McBride's announcement shocked me some is because of things he has said in past interviews. He used to talk frequently about wanting to go down as the best bull rider in history. Sure, he has won the most money in PBR history, but Adriano still has three gold buckles compared to two for Justin. I figured he would at least try to win another one or two before calling it quits. That's the part that shocks me a little, but I still give him all the respect in the world. He is going out on his own, and that says something in the sport of bull riding.

He'll still be considered arguably the best. After all, Donny Gay has 8 but there are other names in the conversation. I like the way Justin is leaving. No overblown farewell tour, just leaving while still among the very best. Reminds me of Bobby Steiner, Daryl Mills & Ty Murray.

Wow!! This is coming as a complete shock for me! I can't believe he is retiring... I knew he probably wouldn't be riding for much longer, but I din't think that this would be his last year. I loved watching him ride Chicken on a Chain and Big Bucks Big Bucks in particular... and of course his ride on CAmo to win the '05 world title.

I'm totally shocked too but just think how happy his family must be! If my son was a bull rider I'd be terrified with every ride. I hope Justin will be a commentator. I like him better than Ty.
