The bull list for the first three rounds is all I've seen so far, and that can be found at the World Finals site: www.pbrnow.com/wf08/I read somewhere else that there might be a draft for every round, but I'm hoping that's not the case. I've enjoyed the draft at certain events this season, but there is no place for it at the World Finals. We will see I guess. By the way, it's good to see you back at the forum. It's been a little while.

I remember earlier in the season hearing that just a couple of rounds would be drafts. I hope they don't change it to all rounds--that would be too much, imo.

It looks like there will be a draft on the 30th for the first round. Don't these people know Homeslice and I have to do matchups? That's not giving us much time to get things together. I'm looking forward to it.

thanks for the info. And also the welcome back... it has been a while! I also hope that only a few rounds at the finals will have the draw.

I believe there is a draft at 10:30 Saturday morning at Mandalay Bay for that evening's round, and then later that night, around 9:30 p.m. at the Sahara, a draw for the Sunday round. There looks to be a draft before every round of competition at various venues.
Rodeogal, for the complete schedule go to the website and click on the "activities" tab at the top of the opening page for the Finals.

I'm looking forward to seeing J.B. on Ricky Bobby. That should be a good ride. Also Reese Cates on Fraggle Rock and Zack Brown on Little Bo.

Since I'm pulling for Guilherme to win, I'm nervous about Kody on Cat Man Do. Good bull, good rider, possible great score....one that will be deserved if the bull has a good out and Kody goes to 8, of course. I just hope that Guilherme rides more often.

I'm actually surprised there wasn't a little more strategy played out as far as Cat Man Do goes. Lostroh has ridden that bull a couple times this season for 90+ points. I'm pretty shocked Marchi didn't pick him.
Also, kudos to J.B. Mauney for picking Ricky Bobby. He will be 92 or so if he rides him, and he proved once again he wants to ride the rankest bulls possible.
I'm also looking forward to Brian Canter on Shane. That's mostly for personal reasons though. All in all, it should be an electric first round of bull riding. I don't get off work until 9 tonight, so I'll have the TiVo set for the first hour or so.

I don't see Crosswired bucking in the first 3 rounds or in the reride pen. Anyone know what's going on? He's way better than a lot of the bulls in the first round.

We think a like because I was thinking the same thing. The only thing I can guess is that he is still a Futurity bull (not sure about this), and he will be competing in that stuff. If that's the case, he should be used in round 4 or 5, whichever isn't the rank pen. That may be the case, but I'm not sure.

Can you explain to me about Futurity bulls? Are these bulls under a certain age? How do they differ from Classic bulls? Was Troubadour a Futurity bull last year? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to learn.

I'm not 100% sure on the age limit, but it's either 3 or 4 I believe. I'm not sure about the difference between futurity and classic either, but they are pretty similar I think. The ABBI site is a good one though, and you will probably find all the answers there. And yes, Troubador was a Futurity bull last year, and he won a lot of money for his owners. It was well in the hundred thousands. I don't know all the different rules and guidelines, but I sure love watching the young ones buck.
As for round one tonight, wow! There were over 30 qualified rides, and the pen of bulls wasn't anything to sneeze at. The riders brought their A+ game, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow night. Congrats to J.B. Mauney on his round win. He was definitely all of 92.25 points. I personally thought Guilherme's ride was more like an 88 or 89, but he still got the job done. I was happy to see him step it up after all his competitors did.

J.B. definately had a stellar night! It was good to see L.J. and Chris Shivers back: both did more than just cover their bulls. I agree with you, Thrasher, about Guilherme's score. I think he and Travis Briscoe on Salty Dog could have swapped - 89 for 90.25, but I can't begrudge Guilherme a 90+, he works pretty darn hard! The "spinners" pen did have some standouts- Ricky Bobby for one, also Nasty Mike, Cat man Do, and Soulja Boy. Plenty of talent for the guys to take advantge of! Did anyone hear about Colby Yates condition? That was some wallop to his head but he seemed to have his senses about him, so maybe no concussion.
