PUEBLO, Colo. (November 11, 2008) - According to Merriam-Webster, the word “tough” is “characterized by severity or uncompromising determination” – a definition that’s certainly synonymous with being a professional bull rider. The sport is certainly “severe” and one’s determination couldn’t be more “uncompromising” to warrant strapping a hand to 2,000 lbs. of brute force. The PBR is looking to stake claim as ambassadors of the term within the sports industry as the “Toughest Sport on Earth.” An arrogant petition? – Yahoo! Sports is setting the record straight as they take it to the polls. It’s time to solidify bull riding as the “Toughest Sport on Earth!” Check out the featured article on the PBR and cast your vote at sports.yahoo.com/top/news?slug=jo-bullriding111008&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Bull riding is dominating right now with quite a few votes already casted. It's really common sense for anyone who has ever watched bull riding, but I'm sure people will be stubborn nonetheless. I do agree that MMA is second as well.

Ayuh, I cast my vote for the PBR slogan, "Toughest Sport on Dirt." Weren't that many votes cast yet, maybe 25 or so, but 50% voted that bull riding was indeed the toughest. Several good and bad comments posted afterwards. I put in my two cents' worth. The Yahoo article was very good, and if you have a chance to read it, please do so. It's obvious from some of the comments, some (if not the majority of people) didn't have a clue what all went into bull riding. One person said it wasn't that big a deal because a guy just had to get on the back of a bull and hang on for dear life. We all know there's much more to it than that.

Has anyone checked the poll results lately? I just did--bull riding definitely leaves no margin for error. I sent the link to all my contacts--many of whom I have taken to PBR events, so they know what they're voting for firsthand.
