I thought yesterdays theatrics were ridculous with Tom and Chad (Bones v Big Tex)
I hope this does not begin a new trend with the PBR.
Because if it does then I start thinking that things might be "fixed" just like in wrestling.
If Bones had a trip like he did with JB then Big Tex is a shoe in. Except we are talking something that is judged.
Mr. Teague has a way bigger wallet and spends quite a bit more then Mr. Berger...
I'm just saying.........
Get the theatrics out of the PBR, we do not need it.

i thougt it was out of line too. especially if they leave it at one ride. it also depends on which cowboy is on the bull. with just one ride it is an unfair deal anyway. maybe 4-5 scores then average them. but lets leave pbr a bull ride not a $$ contest.

It rubbed me the wrong way, too, not only for those reasons, but for another one: I thought about how nice it must be to have that kind of money to throw around in this economy.

i had a thought---when they go through with this stupidity--i think the "winner" should have to dnate the $$ to the resistol relief fund. maybe that would stop this or at least give the rider and bull fighters a cushion when they need help.

We didn't like this wager either. Don't know what the motivation is behind things like this, but the PBR doesn't need it. I think the idea of the $$$ going to the relief fund is a good one, then stop the theatrics.

I don't mind the wager because it is interesting and does help bring interest to the sport of bull riding. We may not all agree with it, but it's a smart move on the PBR's part.
I do agree with carpshooter, however, that it should be based on 4 or 5 outs instead of 1. There are so many things that can happen in one out, and $50,000 is too much money for that body of work.
I'm not totally against the idea, but it should be tweaked a little for sure.

It immediately didn't sit well with me, either - for several reasons. 1) Teague?? Berger?? Seriously, tell me who those judges are gonna score the bull higher for, since Teague sits on the board, etc, of the PBR. Big Tex doesn't stand a chance. (Oh, pardon me - I'm sure the judges won't let that influence their bull scores in any way...) 2) In this economy, it's always refreshing to see rich folk flaunt their money around to those of us who aren't lucky enough to be quite as well off as them. Sorry my reply drips with such sarcasm, but I found it to be utterly distasteful. However, if they MUST do it, I agree with the above posters that the monies should be turned over to charity. At least in the end, some good will have come from it other than fattening up some fat cat's already bulging wallet.

my take on it is the same as atrman's ......... _______________________________________________________________________________

It's moves like this that make my disappointment in the PBR grow by the day....and make more and more fans jump ship to other organizations a lot sooner.
