Here are my match-ups, Cody & company:
Cody Ford on Walk the Line: Another Cody has stepped it up this year. Walk the Line has to be the rankest user-friendly bull going right now, with an average bull score of just over 44, and the bull riders having covered him 19 out of 29 times in his career. Cody looked good in OKC, and I think he's got what it takes to twist this bull. I look for this to be in the top 5 or 10 of the go-round.
Guilherme Marchi on Mr. Bond: I'm not sure which Guilherme will show up this time, but this bull is also rideable for someone like him. The bull has been ridden 8 out of 14 times, and Marchi won't let this bull buck him off IMO, so I gotta take the rider.
Kasey Hayes on Rude Awakening: Another match-up I like. He's been ridden 4 out of 5 times, and two of those rides were by Mr. Hayes. Third time will go well for the rider as well. I pick Kasey to be in the top 10 in the round on this bull.
Matt Bohon on Road Daddy: This bull will net you a big score if you can ride him. Trouble is, he's only been ridden 4 out of 13 times, and all 4 rides were by left-handers. Matt finally looks like he's putting his nightmarish year of 2008 behind him, but I don't think he'll get past Road Daddy (but then again, he did get past Charlie Bullware, so I may be wrong...). The bull wins here.
Ryan Dirteater on Why Not Minot: And why not? This bull is as rideable as they come in this round (13 out of 17 times). Dirteater's not only stepped up his game this year, but he's a threat for the gold buckle already. This bull will be but a walk in the park for him. Dirteater gets this one easily.
Ryan McConnel on Derringer: This Ryan is doing pretty good as well, but Derringer is no day off. In fact, the only 3 (out of 15) rides on this bull came from right-handers (and 2 of them by a man named Marchi....). Left-handers can't figure this one out, and McConnel won't have much luck either. I'm going with Derringer on this one.
Some good match-ups to look forward to here. And also, here's the short-go draw, which also looks pretty impressive (though there are one or two I don't think I've seen before; at least Blitz is a new one):
Husker's Terror Chad Berger / Jim Quintaine
Major Payne Robinson/Broken N-N/C&D Bulls/Skyhawk/Red Knection
Bad Blood Chad Berger / Clay Struve
Big Tease Chad Berger / Julie Rosen
Fully Loaded Chad Berger / Clay Struve
White Magic Diamond G Rodeos, Inc.
Maverick Lufkin Ranch & Rodeo
Sir Patrick Chad Berger / Clay Struve / Julie Rosen
All In Berger / Naccarato / Struve
Troubadour Julio Moreno Bucking Bulls
Blitz Lufkin Ranch & Rodeo
Mac-Nett's Hydroblast Jeff Robinson / Broken N-N / Cathy & Jason McNeely
Charlie Bullware Julio Moreno / Chadwick
Team Equine's Evil Forces Chad Berger / Clay Struve
Say I Won't Gunner Chad Berger / Clay Struve
Should be good! I'm kinda surprised Chicken on a Chain's not in the short-go though....maybe he wasn't hauled to CA.
