Looks like Austin's first BFTS ride was a memorable one. This from the Fresno Bee story:
Austin Meier of Checotah, Okla., turned in one of the most memorable early rides, even though he didn't advance to the finals.
After a successful ride on Rodeo Attitude.com, Meier couldn't dismount because his right boot remained tied to the bull's flank. In the 10seconds it took a team of bull fighters to unhook Meier, Rodeo Attitude.com dragged him halfway around the dirt-covered arena floor.

yeah i had a blast!!! poor austin...he was hanging upside down from his bull rope...it wasnt the flank if i remember right. the only reason he got loose is cause his boot came apart! he got up and walked outta the arena.. and reindeer had another crazy out..but the craziest is after the rider was off and he was chasing a bull fighter..you guys get to watch to see what he did, lol

GO BUBBA!!!! Too bad he wasn't on my fantasy for Fresno. I pick him every event and the time I don't pick him he wins. We're gonna have to have a talk about that.

I never like the NBC coverage......IT SUCKS...I agree with you dairymary. NBC never shows all the riders cause they only have the show on for 90 minutes and usually it gets pre-empted by some other sporting event. I know it is suppose to bring in "new fans" to the sport by having it on NBC, but with what little rides they show, a person watching it for the first time is not going to understand the difference between the long round and short go when they can only see 40 minutes of rides before the championship round. I could rant forever about the coverage (and don't get me started on Donna Brothers or Kenny Rice...LOL). I thank God I have OLN to fall back on when it comes to watching bull riding.

I never like the NBC coverage......IT SUCKS.... I couldn't agree more!!! But, you have to keep in mind though there are people who don't have cable or who do, but don't have OLN. Then at least they get a chance to see an event every now and then (or at least 1 or 2 rides!)

what they also didnt show is that before trey treywick was in the chute getting on the bull and the bull started bucking inthe chute...well if you notice, he now has stiches in his chin cuase he hit is on the chutes...he had to get stiched up and then go out and ride later in the night..also got a concussion from it too...what a way to start out your career inthe pbr getting hurt at your first two events, lol

I attended fresno and had a great time. Raindeer crashed into the railing and nearly crushed the NBC camera man. I know because I had a front row seat directly behind the Cameraman! That bull was out to get the bull fighter. The Bullfighter ran up to the railing and turned right along the railing. Raindeer was full steam at the rail and turned broadside and slammed in there with all of his weight. No one was hurt, but it took a half dozen men to pull the camera cage back into shape. The medical team came right down there too. The Camera man was sort of squeezed in the cage for a little bit. That Bull is wild!
I thought Dr. Proctor (SP) was crazier. No way that anyone is going to ride that bull unless the Dr. starts bucking differently. When justin tried-the beast jumped 4 feet into the air right out of the chute, then two more leaps and that was all he rode...What a great Bull!

I have to disagree with people that said the NBC broadcast sucked. NBC showed us more rides in an hour and a half than OLN does in their 2 hour broadcasts. We missed about 15 rides (where they didn't show them at all). Last weeks Charleston round 2&3 broadcast we missed about 17 rides in round 2. NBC not showing all the rides with replay saved a lot of time and they were able to squeeze in the same amount of rides in 1.5 hours. Honestly, I didn't mind not seeing the replay-- I guess if I had to choose no replay or no ride, I'd FOR SURE pick no replay.
I don't know what you guys all expect but I think they are doing a better job. I remember the days that NBC used to start the broadcast midway through the short-go because other sports ran over their time slot. I am happy with the way NBC has come along (minus Kenny Rice and Donna Brothers) I esp. LOVE it when Ty is commenting.

I think that when it starts out 10 or 15 minutes late that it just starts people off on the wrong foot! I was glad to see what we did! It was that or nothing and I will take an NBC over nothing! And of course there is always Donna and Kenny! But like you stated earlier, it is best not to get into all that!! So basically, I was just glad to be able to see the Fresno event! You have to give them credit for televising it at all! Thanks PBR and NBC!

NBC has improved. A lot of folks don't like Kenny Rice and Donna Brothers, but I prefer them to Brett Haber and Tava Smiley on OLN. NBC did a good thing when they removed George Michael from the PBR broadcasts. Ty was pretty entertaining so far this weekend.
