That Josh Peters he's a funny guy. Here's another article on Travis Briscoe that I took off the Fried Twinkies site.
Grab a seat while you can
on the Briscoe Bandwagon

Travis Briscoe, cocky? I’m starting to think the kid is understated.
Two weeks ago on national TV, Briscoe seemed to get swept up in his first PBR victory when he said his goal this year is to win the world title. But Sunday, after winning for the second time in five events, the 18-year-old sounded dead serious when after the victory he said, “I’m still not where I want to be.’’
It’s time for Briscoe to let it all hang out. To grab a bullhorn and announce he intends to break the single-season record of six victories, shatter Donnie Gay’s record of eight world championships and revolutionize bull riding. Hell, give me the bullhorn and I’ll do it for him.
Maybe the axels will break. Maybe the wheels will fall off. Then again, maybe the Travis Briscoe Bandwagon is headed where he wants to be: on the floor of the Thomas & Mack Center Nov. 5, under a sea of confetti and next to a check for $1 million check after he’s become the youngest world champion in PBR history.
Before you call me fickle — or something more offensive – let’s get something straight. Yes, I know the standings are shuffling like a deck of cards at the Gold Coast and there’s no reason to declare a winner so early. Yes, I picked Guilherme Marchi to win it all in the season preview, and I’ll gladly stick by the prediction considering Marchi is back atop the season standings. Yes, I know I said was rooting for Jody Newberry to win it all, and I still am.
But I’m also jumping aboard the Briscoe Bandwagon because…well, I want a seat before the darn thing fills up.
And if you didn’t get enough Briscoe in the post last week, here’s some additional wisdom the the high school senior from New Mexico relayed during a recent phone interview:
“I’m a person who thinks if you have a weak mentality and have it in your head that you can only accomplish so much, then you’re never going to be more than what you are because you’re happy with a mediocre life.’’
“If I say I’m going to do something, I usually do it. I’m just a very positive person. I have been since I was little, whether it was throwing a baseball, or running a race, or drawing, or writing, anything. I’ve always wanted to be the bet at whatever I wanted to do. And I don’t take a backseat to nobody.’’
“I believe a positive attitude is gong to take you a long way. Rather than saying I’ll be happy with a top 10 finish, well, if you’re going for a top 10 finish you might as well go for first.’’
After Briscoe’s victory Sunday, it all sounds good to a bandwagon jumper like me.
