Agent: McBride will sit out
until rider’s wife gives birth

McBride is skipping the Reno Invitational this weekend and will remain out until his wife, Jill, gives birth to the couple’s first child, said Tony Garritano, McBride’s agent.
Jill McBride is expected to have the child in the next week to 10 days, according to Garritano, adding that McBride will probably miss two or three events before returning to action.
Garritano also dismissed the idea that McBride has been distracted by his wife’s pregnancy.
“It hasn’t affected him any,’’ Garritano said. “He’s right in the thick of this race.’’
McBride, who skipped one other event this season – the Minneapolis Invitational — is seventh in the overall standings and 1,190.5 points behind leader Adriano Moraes. He’s still looking for his first victory of the season but has finished fifth or better at four events.
