I agree with CSB...I think the reason everybody jumped on you is cause you didn't provide any evidence besides the fact that Adriano is your least favorite rider (which you didn't give us until two days after the fact) to back up ANY of your accuasations (sp?).

And you did bash him when you said he didn't deserve it!

I'm still trying to figure out how anyone thinks Adriano was undeserving? Like Kelly said, his riding % was 2% lower than Marchi's coming into The Finals. Did anyone watch the Season in Review on VS a few weeks back? Adriano was at the top of the standing during the meat of the schedule. I know it's easy to think that because Marchi had a better last four or five events, but the season is nearly 30 events. Don't forget how long Adriano was at the top or really close to the top when they were having events every weekend for 19 straight weeks or however long it was. Don't let the last month or two dominate your thought process. And as I always love to say: it's not how you start but how you finish!

Thank you Cody! I don't see how he had a sub-par season at all. probullstats.com/tracker/bullriders.phpGo there, Adriano is top 15 in ALL CATEGORIES (except 1st one) out of all riders on PBR, PRCA and CBR. He beats out Marchi in some categories and the ones where Marchi beats him, Adriano is in the place directly behind him. Sub-par my arse!

I'll tell you why he deserves it. Cause they all played by the same rules. And Adriano played the best. Everyone was given the same opportunity. Adriano capitalized. Anyone who doesn't understand this needs to get out of that drum they're living in.
Still the Champ.

Well said bullardbulls!! Adriano took advantage of the situation, Guilherme came in controling his future and he blew it ...its nobody elses fault except his. Adriano rode like nobody had seen him do in a long time ... and he is the World Champ because of it.

I'd hate to disagree with you Jamie, but I do think Adriano deserved it. Quite honestly, I could name a few guys out there who I think deserve it, (and I do not agree with the whole instant replay thing, but that's another conversation!!) but that's just not how the game played out. There can only be one world champ and this year was Adriano's year. Guilherme will have his time, trust me. He's not going anywhere any time soon! He's got the talent, and heart, he just now has to have the luck!

I can see why he does have people saying he dont deserve it. Look back through the season what did you see from Adriano, a bunch of no-hearted efforts, jumpin off the first jump. Marchi had a great season, and a sorry finals, a world champion is not made in 2 weeks, it takes a whole year to make one, that buckle might say that Adriano is the world champ, but even he will agree with this, Marchi had the best year and deserves it. If every association did this whole finals points thing, then i would of won CSHSRA bull riding last season, I only made 2 shows, fell off 3 bulls covered 1, but that 1 ride was a winner and it got me to state finals, there i covered both bulls easily, the winner in the end had 135 points on the year, i had 17. not that would not of been fair, to cody gardner, he rode all year, and rode alot, i mean i would of been happy if i did win, but it would not of sat right. Marchi should be the champ

Normally I might agree with you. Under the old system Guilherme would be the champ, however the riders were not competing under the old system. All 45 of them knew they were competing under the new points system where a champ can be made in two weeks. According to the points system in which they competed Adriano did win fairly and he did deserve it. If it was under the old points system and he won, then no, it wouldn't have been right, but this wasn't the case. Many of us don't like the points system, but that's the way it is. Times change the points system ain't what it used to be.
People need to serioiusly wake up and realize that the points are different than they were five years ago. Your performance in the finals counts now and nothing is secure unless you have some outstanding 6,000+ point lead over your nearest competition. Adrinao was within striking distance of Guilherme and rose to the challenge, Guilherme faltered. Once again, all 45 riders new the points system format, they knew they could go in there in the lead and have someone snatch it from under them. Given that Adriano won....and deserved it. If it was the old points system and they were slipping him points under the table to let him win, then you'd have something to debate, but it wasn't. People really need to get with the program. Point systems different now and thats all there is to it, world titles aren't won like they used to be.

Ashley....I didn't say I don't think he doesn't deserve it. The original poster said he didn't and I guess I forgot the quotation marks to quote her.

Cody, once again, people aren't looking back at the entire season. Everyone seems to only remember the last five events or so which dates back to June I might add. The stretch where they went 19 straight weeks was handled very well by Adriano. He was very consistent, and as I've mentioned already, he led the World Title race for several weeks during that stretch. He wasn't jumping off early then.
Everyone has a short memory it seems. Over his last five or six events, he was bucking off more and getting off a little earlier than he needed to. But those five or six events don't make a season or a World Champ just like you said.
I suggest you watch the PBR Season in Review when it comes on again and judge the race for the "entire" season instead of the last few months. You said it yourself that you have to look at the entire season. It seems you are only looking at the last few months which is really only 10% of the season.

I guess i was just lookin at the last of the season, i really didnt see too much this year, due to the whole dish thing, and we canceled and just never signed up again so this computer was my way of knowing, less i got lucky and had a friend tape it for me, but there were a bunch of events early on that he would make a beautiful ride, then jump off, that stands out in my mind, i remember how marchi was riding so consistent and putting up big rides, i cant recall hearing about him just jumping off, but that is my mind.
mlm18, i ride bulls for a living, it is my job, i live the life, and i believe that the champ is the whole year, sure marchi was got during the end of the regular season, then just fell off the charts in finals, but those 15+ descent events in my mind outweighs the sorry finals

15+ good events might outweigh a sorry finals for Guilherme as you said. But you admitted yoursel that you weren't able to watch the majority of the season except if you could get someone to tape it for you. Adriano was in the number one spot for a good length of time during the nineteen-event stretch were they were all in a row. Its not like Adriano had an awful season and came back from 45th place to win. I'd lay odds he was in the lead for just as many events throughout the year as Guilherme, if not more. Sorry, but in that aspect the 15+ decent events for Guilherme doesn't make much difference; as said before Adriano had just as many a good events as Guilherme. Only difference is all of Adriano's were at the beginning of the season and no one seems to remember them.
That being said both riders had about 15+ or so other decent events not counting the finals at all. Even their riding precentages weren't that far off from each other. With the points available at the finals now a rider can't afford to slack off at the end. Personally, I think Guilherme started doing what Adriano did his last few regular season events and started jumping off early of his finals bulls, othertimes he was just flat bucked off. Point being both of them had very close riding percentages and both had a good season (wether certain people remember it or not), one came up short at the finals, the other rose to the occasion. Guilherme is still a great rider and he'll get his time. However, Adriano had other great events too besides the finals, possibly more than Guilherme, which that in combination with the finals event is what got him he world title. He wouldn't have been fourth going in if he'd had an awful year.

It seems a lot of you are unhappy with the PBR Board of Directors and Randy Bernard, with the new rules in place for the Finals since 2004. And some are letting their personal dislike for Adriano get in the way of one of the most spectacular performances in bull riding history.
Marchi doesn't deserve one bit of the title. It's a mathmatical fact. There are stats, points earned, etc. At the end of the season you just don't pick a guy out of hat to win the title. It's the guy who earned it.
It's not a beauty contest, it's riding the toughest bulls in the world. At the end of the year, the guy with the most points wins.
Does Wiley Peterson deserve the title because he won more events than anyone else? No.
You can't live in the past with the old rules. The PBR Finals are just as much a part of the season as all the events that lead up to it. You can't take the Finals off and hope to win the title. NOW THAT'S REALITY.
