i read somewhere that he has been injured. does anyone know what happened? i heard something about his thumb being torn off. did it happen at a bull ridin'? and how is he doing?

He lost it in a Team Roping accident. They are trying to reattach it but are not certain if it will take or not.

They showed a shot of his riding hand on Saturday night and it looked kind of odd... He has about 1/2 of his thumb left, but not enough to wrap around the rope when he rides. He's slightly modified the way he wraps his hand, but we'll see if it works, he said after he rides it's still pretty sore so it may be a little while before we see if his new technique works!!

I imagine it has to be a disadvantage to ride without a thumb, but he'll probably get used to it. It's similar to Tater Porter with his finger that can't bend around his rope. When he fell off though, his hand was the last thing to come off.

he sure didn't want to be interviewed very bad. leah just kept after him. he sure wasn't happy to talk about that thumb loss.
