I noticed that Kody was wearing a helmet at the Nashville event this passed weekend... just curious as to why... I didn't know if he got hurt or something.

I don't know why either but when I saw him behind the chutes puttin it on I was like wait a minute since when did he start wearin a helmet. Guess it didn't mess him up too much since he rode for 8 twice lol and of course......he still looked as hot as always when he took it off lol.

I thought I was the only one wondering why he had a helmet on. Maybe it was a personal decision, kinda like how Wiley Petersen spontaneously switched to a helmet (no injuries involved) in 2003, and B.J. Kramps in 2004.

Ross Coleman has taken to wearing one too. Ashley and I were in GR and while wearing his helmet he actually head butted the ground when he found out that he missed a qualified ride in the short round. I think I'm liking the helmet idea little more. I was luke warm on it at first but I'm warming up to it. ;D

I'm sure Ross decided on the helmet because of that horrible accident in the chutes in New Orleans. I'm not sure why Kody had switched for a time, but he's gone back to the hat.
And if anyone watched Columbus, they'll notice that Colby Yates and Billy Robinson switched to helmets (I'm sure because of injuries; Yates got a concussion in Salt Lake City, and Robinson had a broken jaw a couple weeks prior).

Looks to me like some of these guys might only be wearing helmets on the bulls they deem are dangerous, or are known to be head-tossers. To be safe and cut down on head injuries, one would like to see them ALL wear helmets, but it sure just don't look the same as when the cowboys are wearing their hats!
