Hey guys I just found a website for a new cable network that is dedicated to the western lifestyle, events and other programming. The website doesn't have much detail but there is a place to contact the people running it and requests types of shows that you'd like to see.. Here is the website: www.cowboysportsmedia.com

First off it would be great to have a new network. It couldn't have come at a better time either. With all the questions regarding the new NHL on OLN and the three year wait on espn we could use a new network.
With that said though who in the the hell has that network i have 650 channels and i dont even have that one so please what is there satelite affiliate.
Either way it would be great to have a DEDICATED NETWORK. To the pbr, prca, and more important us fans.

Sounds cool to me lol I'm still workin on gettin OLN before the finals.(I think I've almost got my dad talked into it cxause he saw how mad I was last year when we didn't get to watch it all cause only time I can watch PBR is when it's on NBC which ain't much) All we have right now is regular cable. It's better than nothin (my friend only has 3 channels and sometimes 4 if they use the aluminum foil right) but I really want OLN so I can keep up with the PBR and everything. Later.

Nope, I dont have it either... hope to soon though. Maybe they're in the process of doing channel updates or something. Sounds awesome that this is happening though. I agree with Todd on this one, OLN doesnt cover it "enough" I guess & ESPN makes us wait forever and a day.

But how is Cowboy Sports Media going to appeal to new fans? How many people not associated with the western lifestlye are going to say "I want CSM"?

I believe any network can make it with the right loyalty and the desire of the customer. I do agree with csb though how many people will want this. To answer it i have no clue but i do know depending on the programming alot of people would be attracted especially if they program such things as a hackmore showcase, team penning, Breeding programs, Jumper, Rodeos at all levels, bull ridings at all levels and not just the big ones. Lifestyle programs and believe it or not combine some of them bbq shows and i believe you might have a winner. You have to have "The Iron BBQer" lol with all the different people that q.
Seriously i feel that if the network was to think about the broad picture the audeinces to appeal to and then the sub categories it would be a winner.

I work for Cowboy Sports Media and yes we are wanting to know what types of programming the fans want to see on a network dedicated to western lifestyle. there is a contact page on the website or you can email me directly chris@cowboysportsmedia.com i and ever one here at the network look for feedback from all of you. we are currently developing programming so we are listening to ideas for new shows so feel free to contact me or the network to suggest something or to even simply make a comment. and most of all please tell your friends about us and our website, even post it on other sites or message boards that you know about. we will launch in spring or early summer of 2006. Thanks Chris

We have started changing the website and making it current. We have also reached a launch agreement for NOV 30th from Las Vegas. We will launch the network with a show called "Inside the Arena" Hosted by Charlie Throckmorton. ITA has a full description and Charlie's Bio on the website so check it out. There are more show Descriptions to come over the next few weeks. Sorry it took so long for the update. PASS THE WORD ALONG and keep checking back on the site for updates. we will announce in next few weeks the channel location and with what providers

sounds wonderful, BUT--how many of the "local" cable companies are going to carry it? i am sure if you live in a large area where the satelite or cable carry almost everything it will be there, i live in illinois that has a little po-dunk cable company so what about us???

We are working out the terms with several different cable providers on the small market and i hope we cover yours. some small markets are provided by the big markets just under a different name. but rest assured we will try to cover all markets but if we don't we will broadcast our content over the web on our site when we go on the air.

Thanks for the update. I can not wait to see how it all comes together in the end. Was the Nov. 30th date selected to coincide with the NFR or is it coincidence? Be sure to keep us updated and be sure to breath...I am sure things are beginning to get very hectic!

Hey ya'll...i be new here.
This network ain't gonna happen. They were supposed to launch at the NFR. Have you seen any promotion on it? This is somebody's big pipe dream!!!!
I see Throckmorton's profile is gone and so are a lot of the other contacts.
Ain't gonna happen...No way!

Yes its going to happen. we have been working on contracts for content, particularly bull riding! we pulled Charlie's bio down along with ITA page so we can add to it and other shows, we pushed the launch date back to march or April just because of negotiations.

Glad to hear that this venture has not been scraped. Any exposure for the sport and the athletes is always welcome. Good luck with the negotiations and be sure to keep us updated.
