Don't forget that this weekend is one of the biggest Bull Riding events of the PRCA season when the Xtreame Bulls hits OKC. I have not seen a list of the match-ups but Matt Austin has been riding so well he has to be the man to beat no matter what bull he has drawn. The event has also traditionally been one of the best events for bulls in the country. There is so much money involved that we could also see some dramatic moves in the standings next week. Good Luck to all the competitors!

Holly and I should have gone, but we got lazy and didn't get tickets. I kinda wish we would have, but oh well. We are going to a rodeo in southern Oklahoma next week.
I have been wanting to go to an XTreme Bulls event, but I think I would have spent the same money to go to Tulsa and watch the PBR last week instead.
Is this event going to be televised anytime soon? It should be pretty solid I would think.

Here’s a few matchups for tonight:
Matt Austin on Guidry Rodeo’s Elk Zeb Lanham on War Dance Thomas Bert on Pandora’s Box Trent Cormier on Gizmo Dustin Hall on Slobber Knocker Wesley Silcox on Get Ya Some Steve Woolsey on Pile Driver Fred Boettcher on Malpractice B.J. Schumacher on Video Game Dave Samsel on Little Locomotive Clint Craig on Western Hauler Bryan Richardson on Squirt Gun Cody Whitney on High Rise Jason Bennett on Legally Blonde Terry Don West on Cookie Monster Dustin Elliott on Little Boy Blu D.J. Domangue on Snortin Hortin Cord McCoy on Blackberry Wine
I like Wesley Silcox or Bryan Richardson to win the round and Matt Austin to win the event. I think Lanham and Bert are way overmatched against Wardance and Pandora’s Box.

WOW. When 95 points wins the long round, and it takes 90 or better to get a top 5, thats a good bull riding!

I see in the Oklahoman that Matt Austin won Bullnanza with a 270 total. B.J. Schumacher was second at 265 and Cord McCoy was third with 188 (he had rides of 95 and 93 points in the first two rounds). The way Matt is going, he might win more money that any rider in any organization this year. Wow. That's going to put him around $180,000 with four months still to go in the season.

Gus, you are the man for keeping us all updated!
And it looks like everyone was right about Austin winning. It seems like it's just a matter of time before he wins the title this year.
Also, good to see Cord riding great again. A 95 and 93 will usually get you a win, but I guess he didn't cover his short-go bull. Still good to see him back healthy.

Here's the release from Lazy E Arena:
MATT AUSTIN STAYS HOT AT BULLNANZA-OKLAHOMA CITY OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA., August 6, 2005 Oklahoma City was Xtreme with the return of BULLNANZA, presented by the Oklahoma Ford Dealers Friday and Saturday night at the Ford Center. Xtreme Bull Rider Matt Austin is on fire. He rode out of downtown Oklahoma City with his third straight BULLNANZA title of the year and $17,355. Bullnanza Oklahoma City is the eighth stop on the $2.6 million Xtreme Bulls Tour presented by Coors. The win increases Austin¹s commanding lead in both the Xtreme Bulls standings and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy¹s Association (PRCA) World Standings. His victory in Oklahoma City adds another BULLNANZA Championship buckle to his trophy case. ³They are fancy to wear, but I will have one on at the Xtreme Bulls National Finals in Reno,² said Austin. His road to the championship started with a 90-point ride in the first round Friday night on the unridden bull Elk of Guidry Rodeo Company. On Saturday night, Austin drew the bull Sparky of Guidry Rodeo Co. and marked an impressive 89-point ride. Austin placed fifth in each preliminary round. In the Coors Short Round, Austin rode Biloxi Blues of Robertson-Wilson for a score of 91-points. His total on three head of 270 points bested the 2004 Xtreme Bulls Champion B.J. Schumacher of Hillsboro, Wisconsin. Schumacher finished second with 265 points for a total take of $15,953. The crowd at the Ford Center witnessed an intense battle between the top bull riders in the world going head-to-head against the rankest stock in the PRCA for $100,000. The top PRCA bull contractors of Jerry Nelson, Thomas Taylor, David Bailey, Vernon Guidry, Trent Walls, Byron Walker, and Robertson-Wilson, provided a set of the best bulls in the country. Austin likes it at the top. ³It feels good, but more importantly I¹m healthy,² said Austin. ³The good Lord continues to bless me. With every bull you¹ve got to take it like it¹s day one again.² Local crowd favorite Cord McCoy of Tupelo, Oklahoma qualified for his first BULLNANZA event and put on an amazing show for his home state. McCoy won the first round with a 95-point ride aboard Silverado Rodeo Company¹s bull Blackberry Wine. He also won the second round with a 93-point ride on Frontier Rodeo Company¹s bull Clueless. The two round total positioned McCoy as the leader going into the Coors short round. After the other eleven riders competed, McCoy would only have to make a qualified ride to win the event. After he received a re-ride for a foul committed by the bull Little Lobo, he eventually bucked off Western Hauler of Guidry¹s and crushed the hopes of the hometown favorite. Although, McCoy went on to finish third in the average earning a nice check of $16,479 securing McCoy¹s qualification to the Xtreme Bulls National Finals. BULLNANZA will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Desportes in October. As of press time, the dates and times have not been released. After the original airing, BULLNANZA-Oklahoma City will replay again on all three networks for a total of six airdates. ESPN is the flagship network of Xtreme Bulls and all Bullnanza events in 2005.

Thanks for the update Gus! Matt has one of the most impressive summer riding percentages that I have ever seen in a summer run. He has covered a lot of tough bulls. Barring injury I don't think that anyone is going to catch him and I think that the PRCA season money won record is history! I don't think that there is a bull out there right now that I would pick to throw Matt right now. He has it all, the form, the strength and the confidence. It will be fun to watch him the rest of the season.
It is also great to see BJ pick up a nice check as well. It must have been a great treat for the OKC fans to see both of them cover all three.
Sounds like Cord had a great weekend too. The money will help move him up and hopefully the two great rides will help put him on a good roll for the rest of the season. Can't wait for the next Xtreame event!
