I wonder how many PBR guys who also compete in the PRCA are going to be in this event next week?
Lee Akin, Clint Craig and Corey Navarre were at the event in Reno a few weeks ago.
I'm wondering if Potter or Paulo are doing any PRCA events at all this year.

I am not sure how many of the PBR will qualify to compete but I am guessing that those that do will be there. It is big money to pass up on a non BFTS weekend. I would love to see Akin or Navarre compete. I know Potter has been quite active on the PRCA tour and is currently ranked 21 in the JD world standings. Cory McFadden is also ranked 34 so he may also appear. Rumor has it they are assembling an amazing pen of bulls of both PRCA and PBR "regulars" for the event. I will be at the event so I will be sure to post an update for you all. If I survive the night out with Charlie that is! #cowboy#

Anybody coming to Music City for the event be sure to let us know. I'll be the guy dragging a blender and tequila into the Hilton across the street from the Gaylord Center. Excuse me mam, could I have a room with 240 volt outlet please. So we don't want to hear any weenie stories about how folks from this site slid into town, went to the Wildhorse tourist wonderbar, and went home quietly the next day. Come see us. cowboy4443

When you all hear that Nashville went dark you will know what happened. It was Charlie and his blender!
Oh wait Charlie are you sure other people are going to show up to the event? Rumor has it that the events you plan to attend have such low attendance they usually get canceled! I thought we could just shout at each other across the arena and figure out the scores ourselves! Better yet you think they might let us do the match-ups! ;D Rumor has it there are going to be some great bulls there and I can not wait to see what riders are there as well!

Does anybody know if and when this event is going to be televised? It looks like some good match-ups and since I can't be there in person, hopefully it'll be on TV sometime...

Buckspin, I believe Bullnanza will be televised in October. Might be titled Extreme Bulls "Road to Reno". I heard the show would include three stops. Although, I didn't see any major production company at the event. Fridays attendance was pathetic and the audience was mezmorizied by the garbled announcing. The bulls were rank, but the roper got bigger cheers than the riders (go figure). Matt Austin took the short go by riding 3 bulls, 81, 87, and 90 point rides with 258 points total. Dustin Hall was runner up with 82 points begind Austin. Matt Austin and Fred Boettcher were the only two not bucked off in the final round.War Dance is now 39-0 by bucking of Dave Samsel. The bands on Broadway were hot & the beer was cold. We joined up with Terri and her cousin Becky on Friday night. They were attending Saturday's ride and I went to USTRA competition in Murfreesboro instead. cowboy4443

Hey, Charlie, thanks for the details and results you provided. Sure doesn't sound like we'll be seeing that event on tv. How come they have such poor audience turn-out? Is there some other major event going on at the same time that steals the crowd away?

Well I survived Nashville. It was a great event as you can see from the match-ups. As Charlie said the first night the crowd was quite disappointing however Saturday night there were probably 5 times the number of people that there was the first night and it helped the acoustics enough that you could understand some of what the announcers were saying.
Dave Samsel made a great ride in the second round on Snortin Horton for a 90.5. Another rider that really caught my eye at the event was Tate Stratton. He had a good looking start in the first round although he did not make the whistle. In the second round his bull acted up in the chute and the guy helping him lost his grip on Tate and Tate went flying over the head of the bull and got knocked around almost ending up under the bull before some o the other riders that were standing near the chute were able to grab him and calm the bull down. The judges gave him the option to let the next rider go first. he refused the option pulled his hat back on reset his rope and nodded. He then made a great looking 86.5 point ride. The heartbreak ride of the second night had to be JD Hoagland on Del Rio. Del Rio had a good out an JD stayed with him jump for jump and lost it at 7.8 seconds. We were sitting right next to the chutes and even the Tuff was trying to figure out on the replay what had happened because he thought he was going to make the whistle too. Tuff will also be shopping for a new hat as his got a little beat up by a bull as he helped do a little bull fighting during the final round.
Matt Austin looks unstoppable and it is going to take an amazing effort to beat him for the championship buckle. One other note. BJ Schumacher did not compete at the event this weekend. The announcer mentioned the reason but since it was the first night no one could figure make out what they had said.
Oh and Dusty Ephrom did ride Hot d**n for 85.5 points and ended up 10th with a payday of just under $2,000.00. Matt Austin was the only one to cover three bulls and the two Dustins (Hall and Elliott) and Fred Boettcher were the only ones to cover two.
