Billings, MT - A reception honoring World Champion team roper Clay Tryan will be held Thursday, December 29 at Billings Livestock Commission. Join us as we congratulate and recognize Montana's first PRCA TEAM ROPING WORLD CHAMPION!!! Tryan, along with partner Patrick Smith, captured the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's 2005 Team Roping World Championship at the NFR in Las Vegas Dec. 2-11. Tryan and Smith pocketed $71,683 during the 10-day Finals Rodeo, bringing their 2005 earnings to a grand total of $167,204 apiece. In addition, the duo set a new NFR arena record - posting a 3.5 second run in the ninth go-around. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. at Billings Livestock Commission, followed by a program at 7 p.m. We invite you to stop by and congratulate Clay! Wow that is great! Too bad I don't live closer to MT. Clay did an amazing job all year and really stepped it up at the finals. That 3.5 second run was absolutely amazing! It is a well deserved honor.
