Well the end of the year is approaching and guys are starting to fight for that all important top 15 ranking. In a repeat of last year Matt sits on the top of the standings answering the question some asked last year about if he could keep up his amazing success. Matt does not however have quite the lead he did last year. Sonny Murphy has had a phenominal year picking up some big wins and keeping him close to Matt all year. Here is what the top 25 looks like:
Rank Name City State Earnings Count
Matt Austin Wills Point, Texas 136,230 75
Sonny Murphy Herriman, Utah 102,274 73
Wesley Silcox Payson, Utah 98,248 63
Zeb Lanham Sweet, Idaho 86,852 66
Dustin Elliott North Platte, Neb. 82,962 63
J.W. Harris May, Texas 78,811 76
Bobby Welsh Gillette, Wyo. 70,422 62
Jarrod Ford Greeley, Colo. 69,166 67
B.J. Schumacher Hillsboro, Wis. 67,938 62
Steve Woolsey Payson, Utah 67,686 68
Travis Sellers Wentzville, Mo. 64,566 64
Tate Stratton Stanley, N 62,154 77
D.J. Domangue San Angelo, Texas 62,144 76
Clayton Williams Carthage, Texas 61,771 102
Jarrod Craig Hillsboro, Texas 60,406 54
Zack Oakes Tonasket, Wash. 59,505 55
Jason McClain Lewis, Colo. 59,032 42
Cody Hancock Taylor, Ariz. 58,010 66
J.C. Bean Goldendale, Wash. 57,597 60
Cooper Kanngiesser Zenda, Kan. 54,349 80
Mike Moore Kankakee, Ill. 52,269 81
Fred Boettcher Rice Lake, Wis. 51,763 62
Jake Wade Alamo, Nev. 51,675 75
Chad Besplug Claresholm, Albert 51,171 60
Marcus Michaelis Caldwell, Idaho 45,961 63
It is great to see that BJ was able to remain in the top 10 despite some recent injuries that kept him from competing. It is also great to see Fred sitting at 22 despite missing time due to injuries and a spider bite at the height of the rodeo season.
Marcus Michaelis has some real talent and has been known to step up in a big way when the pressure is on. With a lot of money still on the table before the NFR he could make a good run at the top 15.
