After the last Xtreme event it was looking nearly impossible for Fred Boettcher to qualify for his 6th NFR. Sitting in 22 place he is nearly $11,000 out of the top 15 with only a few weeks to go. He also finished just outside the top 12 of the tour standings needed to qualify him for the Pace Championship, the last place a cowboy could pick up the large amount of money he still needs. The injuries interviened. Matt Austin had to withdraw from the event due to injuries moving Wesley Silcox up. However Wesley is also out due to an injury requiring surgery. Next in line is Fred who will be riding not just for the Tour Championship but also for the right to go to his 6th NFR. Best of luck to Fred and all the cowboys competing in Dallas this weekend!

Maybe Sweet Dreams really do come true! It looks like Fred pulled it off! He won the ProRodeo Championship with a 91 point ride on Silvardo Rodeo Co's Sweet Dreams. With the win he picked up a total of $12,925.00. If my calculations are correct and the guys right behind him did not pick up more then 1,800 this weekend Fred should be in the 15th spot for the NFR. DJ Domangue had a great weekend picking up 19,583 and moved himself from 21 to approximately 9th in the world also earning himself a trip to the NFR. Can't wait for the results to be final!
CBS will air the event next weekend. When I find the information regarding the time and date I will let you all know!
