I upgraded to a platinum TeamPBR membership to be able to secure advance tickets for the world finals Nov 06. I upgraded too late for the "mass mailing" from the Thomas & Mack Center. (what the lady told me on the phone from PBR that the mailing already went out probably as we were speaking).
I was told to call back and speak to someone but apparently they don't allow you to speak to a person at PBR headquarters. I have again left another message with no response. I am not asking anyone to tell me the code as then just anyone would get it but has anyone if anyone rec'd the mailer from Thomas & Mack?'
I went to UNLVtickets.com and it does ask for a presale code. I am so mad! Oh well, perhaps they will call me back, probably after the 18th. The lady I spoke w/ from the PBR wasn't too friendly and I wonder if she even knows what is going on? Please just let me know if in fact a mailer went out?

Try "SBULL5" (letter S in front and number 5 at end) That has been the secret code for the last 6 months at Mandalay Bay. Good luck, cowboy4443

my sister got papers(order forms) in the mail about 2 weeks ago to get tickets to the 06 finals. she could get the seats we had last year or update. we are going to update and get better tickets. not sure why she got papers in the mail, but when she tried to call and do the tickets she was told it had to be done by mail and that is the only way. we can pick up our 06 tickets at the finals this year.

thank you cowboy4443 for your info. I will try it on the 18th.
I did fill out my paper form for the 2006 OKC, OK event to fax in this next week, but of course I did not get the paper with the 06 options for the world finals. The lady on the phone did say that the season holders will get first dibbs to update as carpshooter said but that there would be a code for platinum members to get their pre-sale tickets on the website Nov. 18th.
I guess I am getting panicky b/c I am not don't know s the code to secure my tickets. I did email the PBR again and left another message, hopefully they will call me before then. Thanks so much for eveyones reply. Holly I will let you know if/when I find out!
They say on the website it is for teampbr members but the lady in a round about way told me the presale was not for all pbr members but for platinum members only and that if I didn't upgrade from gold to platinum I could not buy presale tickets.
Thanks again everyone. I will keep checking to see if anyone else has the code. I am a platinum member so if you get or know the code please let me know. Thanks again guys!

I don't know if this will help or not, but try calling the PBR headquarters (791-471-3008) and dialing ext 3140. This will reach the special tickets coordinator for the PBR. (It used to be Beth Benjamin, but she is not working there anymore.) This is the number that Jody and I dial when we want to buy family tickets for events. (We get them 20% off.) Perhaps she can help you or direct you to a person who can. Hope that helps.
God bless, Amanda Newberry

Amanda: Thank you so much for the info. I wrote the phone # down and will try again tomorrow. I spent most of today (Oct 17) trying to get through and then finally a girl named Sarah called from the PBR and my cell phone went dead. I'm sure the folks at the PBR think I am psycho since I have left a million voice mails begging them to call me with the code for online.
I kept trying to get back in and she never called back. I will have to try and buy the tickets via phone at UNLV tomorrow. I do appreciate your help. If all else fails I'll call your # you gave me but I don't want to make them mad b/c that # may be only for pbr riders, family, staff etc.
It was funny to come home and see that you had posted to my question because since I was at work waiting for Sarah to call me back from the PBR I had to explain to every patient why I needed my cell phone in my operatory. I am a dental hygienist and well, I guess some found it amusing that I was such a PBR fan. One lady has the girl (from Sayre, I was raised in Sayre and know her) who is dating Cody Whitney as her student teacher. Another taught Lee Akin in college. I work in Weatherford, OK. It was neat to see all who knew about bull riding but then again my cell phone never rang either. I don't keep my cell phone in my room ever but today it was for a good cause.
They talked about how most riders were small and it was ironic that you replied to my post because I was explaing that Jody Newberry was 6' or so; I later came home and Jody's wife had answered to my post. How neat. I bet I don't get good finals seats but I will keep trying. It will be my first finals and I have never left my 6 year old behind. We can only go two days but I want to be there!
thanks again Amanda and God Bless You & your family too.
Julie

P.S. to Amanda:
I'd call Joe in Sayre but he probably couldn't help me either. I grew up just 4 miles or so west of his ranch . His son is a year younger than myself. Joe took me chute side at the OkC event last year. It was awesome but I don't want to abuse his pull in any way. I may try to email him though and see if he can help me. His tickets are probably secured each year through the ABBI or the PBR in advance.
I have tried to get him to let me help/volunteer so I dont' have this problem but the PBR doesn't need a dental hygienist! I would LOVE to help the riders disinfect their mouthpieces b/c frankly they are disgusting the way they all tuck them in their pockets. I do hope they brush them and soak them in disinfectant until the next ride. I mean bull poop has E.Coli in it! ick! Poor Greg Potter's is huge! Hope you got a laugh. I am teasing but seriously that does concern me about the mouthpieces. ;D

I don't know if this will help or not, but try calling the PBR headquarters (791-471-3008) and dialing ext 3140. God bless, Amanda Newberry Just a friendly note to correct the area code: Should be - (719-471-3008)BTW-I tried for a solid hour this AM to get through and buy 1st quarter tix. Nope- just could not get through dozens and dozens of re-dials. Tried again later in the day and got right through! The gal said I was the first Fan to request Fresno Seats, so looks like I get to sit on the chute ;D Rich

Well to be honest I would not worry too much about getting through the first day or two. I ordered some of my tickets a month before the event and had GREAT seats. As for the finals there were still great tickets a month before the finals last year so a few days will likely not make a difference. Best of luck!

Gr8th, Don't get your thong in a twist. If you have not bought tickets by next week I can pick them up for you at UNLV next Thursday. Next year I'm going to buy mine on e-bay a week before the event. I'm in New Orleans this week, but flying to Vegas next Thursday morning. Thanks, cowboy4443

Well dosen't that fry your tortilla! I called two hours after the Finals Tix went on sale and ALL of the lower level seats for the last day at Thomas Mack are Gone!. Dung it anyways....
The ticket agent said that most all of them went to season ticket holders and that there were only isolated seats (around 80 total) available in the backs of those sections. They went immediately.
So I opted for seats accross from the chutes again in row J (10 Row up in balcony).
Oh well. I thought PBR Platinum would get us great seats! Is there something wrong with what I was told? Is there not a PBR Fan Club Section?

Well I did not order tickets for this year so the process may have changed, however, I know last year when I talked to the UNLV ticket office I was told that they release a certain number of tickets at different times of the year and also that the lower level seats were only available in packages. In other words you could get lower level seats if you were buying them for all four days of the final weekend but not for a single day. I am not sure if they changed that approach or not. When I ordered them last year the first time I called there were no lower level seats left, however, 4 days later we got lower level seats behind the bucking chutes. Good luck to everyone!
