Update: I called PBR tix sales to see if there were preferred seats for the finals available. First off, they said that they were getting a good number of calls and folks were upset about the way both venues had handled the PBR fan's tickets. Yep-The season's ticketholders, the folks rolling over their tix from last season all get first dibbs. Then the random open seats are sold very fast. The lower levels are all gone. Furthermore, I was told the "mess" was pretty big. Somehow Mandalay bay had started letting Finals tix go last Saturday-even before the prices were confirmed! So there went a bunch of seats PBR Fans were supposed to have access to! PBR tix sales informed me that if a PBR fan club section were to be "organized", it would not be for another couple of months. So I'll bet that section will be so high up in the arena that the tix will come with oxygen masks I'll pass along a tip I got from a man that has worked the Thomas Mack venue for 20 years. The great seats to get in the Balcony section are NOT necessarily the seats that the computer will select as "Best Available" for the event. The computer does not know about the Chutes. The computer program just knows which seats are closer to the floor. So try to get Section 230. Those seats are directly accross from the chutes. If you take binocs, you will be inside the chutes with them bulls! Otherwise, using the "Best Available" computer pick system that the phone operators use, you could find yourself way down the arena where you can't see as well. Rich

The final weekend usually use a two chute system so there are bucking chutes on either end of the arena at the Thomas and Mack.

Oh that makes me sick to know I could've waited and maybe gotten better seats. I called today during my noon hour at UNLV tickets and finally got through 45 minutes later. I still have YET to hear back from anyone at the PBR. I'll tell ya a voice mail & email just doesn't work. I upgraded to get good seats for finals and I agree being a Platinum member I don't think paid off.
I do agree with WI8secfan. I know you can always get good seats when you buy packages. I have a friend that went every year and had good seats but bought a $1500 package. I am only able to go for 2 days and I am sure that is why I was unable to get good seats. The man I spoke to also told me lower level was sold out. I do not have my "thong in a twist" but still I am going to finally go to my first world finals and paid to be a member so I could be in the nosebleed section?
The man I spoke to on the phone informed me there wasn't a fan club section. Everyone gets "best available" I am in the middleof the arena but like row L and M in upper level(have different seats each night) . He tells me they are good seats but you know he just wants to get off the phone with you. I'm sure my hubby will never take me back b/c he'll wonder why I couldn't have secured better seats.
I wonder also how you get season tickets? Maybe if you go once and buy w/ the fan club # they send you the mailer in advance next year?
Oh well, I have tix but no answer as of yet if anyone at the PBR rec'd my fax for my OkC ticket order.
P.S. AT 35 my thong days are OVER! hee! hee! ;D

He did tell me on the phone (guy at T&M) that the chutes were at each end and that the middle section would be best. Now that I think about that I don' t think it will be so great. Too late now my Disney Mickey card has been charged. It is a catch 22 buy the tix or wait & see.
The PBR had this seating problem when they were affiliated with the Lazy E. I had horrible seats at the Lazy E arena and then when the PBR was at the Ford Ctr (in OkC) year they offered all seats to the season tix holders so if you purchased a fan club section you were at the other end WAY away from the chutes. I was pissed! I called and they told me they had a lot of complaints and it wouldn't happen again.
Since the PBR has broken ties w/ the Lazy E now the tix are booked through the PBR; however last year our assigned fan club seats would've had us riding all the bulls! Our seats and our tickets were in the bull pens!
We had two different seats both nights & had to go to the ticket office to be "reseated" it was a pain in the butt when you had gone though the fan club ticket process months prior to the event.
Maybe they will get the whole "fan club" section figured out in a while.
I don't care how frustrated I've been it is all still worth it. Just hope they eventually get their act together.
Thanks guys for all your replies. I appreciate it. I guess I've done my damage w/ the crappy world finals tickets that I've bought.

Okay folks I now feel like I am writing a novel since I have been the last 3 posts, consider this CHAPTER 3. (yes I talk as fast as I type) Ask Holly or Cody I am their dental hygienist, poor things they may have to switch dentists now, hee! hee!
I just got off of a LIVE CHAT with a very nice person on unlvtickets.com. He tells me that there are NO low level tickets open b/c season pass people took them and big name corporate people, BUDWEISER, JACK DANIELS etc etc. they use for comp tickets and stuff like that. He tells me that my seats are not "nose bleed" and that I am pretty centered.
I should'nt get so worried about things like this but this being my first WORLD FINALS and the first time I've ever left my daughter while I am in another state with family I just wanted everything to be "good".
Okay folks, end of my novel for now. Thanks again
"THE END" (don't hold me to that!) ;D ;D ;D

Okay folks I now feel like I am writing a novel I loved your novel ;D Thanks for writing it! I was able to get through to PBR twice and speak with Carol, and also right through to the UNLV ticket PBR person. Still, I have just regular seats. Now we all know what's up with finals tix. The season ticket holders are locals and corporations who buy seasons tickets at the venue for the entire year. That means ball games, concerts, rodeos-whatever. They have great seats and pay through the nose to hold those seats. This is the same at any shed or arena pretty much. I have a friend who's sister has season tix to a pavillion. Now if she doesn't use them, then my buddy can. Then, if my buddy's wife is not interested in the act, then I sometimes go with him. Second row boxes are pretty cool-especially when you get to see headliners up close. If I were to just buy "Best Avaialbale" at that venue, it would most often be seating on the "lawn" Anyways, I think I have a way to turn your mediocre seats (Same as Mine) into great seats. Thomas and Mack Arena is not all that big. Must have been designed as a basketball arena for UNLV. Here is the deal. Take the other $50.00 you would have spent on lower level seats and buy a couple pairs of great binoculars. I happen to do biz with a military contractor who offers over runs on goodies to consumers like us. I bought a pair of these Military (Mil Spec) Binocs and they are fabulous. The Govt. pays hundreds for them These are current issue to the guards at check points overseas and guard shacks on boarders. The optics & coatings are super crisp and clear. Not too big either. They are not heavy and come in a case with straps and lens cleaning towel and plastic lens protector caps. I have since bought two more pair and now the whole family has a pair. At the last two PBR events we attended, both my wife and I used them during the whole show to watch the riding. My daughter used them to see how other kids accross the arena her age were dressed and groomed ;D Hope posting this link to those Binocs is OK: Click Link For Binocular InfoLastly, yes the TV ads say "What do these fans have that you don't?" " Great Seats!" "Join PBRNOW and get great seat!!" Yeah Yeah Yeah...what's new.....? Rich

;DThank you Rich for being so nice regarding my "novel" I felt like I was rambling on & on and on.
I rec'd a confirm from the PBR that they got my fax for OkC tickets. She said they had me down for Friday & Saturday! They didn't pay attention my fax it clearly says Saturday & Sunday. All in all my tix buying experience for both events have been nightmares and you saw above where I wrote that our seats last year at OkC were in the "bull pen" and had to be reseated due to a miscalculation in seats.
I too have been discouraged and thanks for your suggestions. I have a pair of binoculars but if it is going to be that bad to see the riding I should've stayed home by my tv where I can see a lot more teven behind the chutes.
I am still excited about my world finals next year.
thanks again!
Jules
P.S. we'll see if the PBR tix people make my order right.

Well half the fun of the finals is the excitement of the arena and all the fun events that go with it so even if you have the worst seats in the house I have a feeling you will still enjoy yourself. As for the regular season event tickets I was really surprised to hear all the issues that you had. I ordered event tickets over the phone last year and was 100% satisfied with the experience. The people that I talked to at the PBR were great and the seats were phenomenal despite the fact that the tickets for Tulsa were purchased with in a month of the event. It might have been that the PBR had more control over those venues. The only issue I had was when the ticket center did not send all the tickets to the PBR to ship out and so they were shipped separately. Since I was in danger of not receiving them before I left I contacted the PBR and they even helped come up with a contingency plan just in case. I guess when it rains it pours though and with the volume of orders they are getting right now I am guessing that they re facing a lot of challenges. Keep the hope alive...in the end I am sure that both experiences will be amazing!

This year has been tough for me getting tickets. I admit last year it wasn't such a big deal however we did not have the right assigned seats in OkC. (in the bull pen is where the seating assignments were for and those seats were folded up)
I just hope they get my tickets straightened out for OkC event. They said I have the tickets Fri-Sat my faxed form said Sat-Sun.
It will all work out. I have just been kinda nervous about securing all these tickets at once. I know they will both be gr8 events.
Thanks for replies.

I just ordered Terri and my tickets for Minneapolis without a problem whatsoever, don't know where the seats are but we will have fun regardless. I would recommend calling next time instead of faxing the order, that way you talk to someone directly and they can answer any questions you may have. I plan on doing the fan club for Reno and Florida events too. Everyone I know that has sat in fan club had terrific seats.
Judy whom I met in GR was in the section closest to the bucking chutes like three rows up. She has pics of the guys that are behind the bucking chutes and they are soooo close that it looks like they are standing next to them. She bought hers through the fan club and got VIP passes for a bucking chute tour, etc... She was pleased and Terri and I were jealous!! ;D!!!

Thanks guys.
I know I will have fun "regardless"
I just hope I have a tv to watch the WORLD FINALS ON this weekend. I have DISH. We will have to wait and see what happens?
