Hey guys, I thought it would be neat if we could have a section in which you could share any pieces you may have written about rodeo. I wanted to share a memory of my first experience with the PBR. I wrote it a few years back for a writing class of mine in college. Anyways, it is my first experience at the PBR. I would love to read any pieces of writing anyone else has written about rodeo. I love that kind of stuff. (Please also remember, I am no english major, I am math/science...lol) 8secondaddiction.bravehost.com/Writing.htm*link should work now, thanks terri*

That is a great idea Andrea!
PS The link that you added points to a local drive so you will be able to see it but no one else will be able to access it. If it is too long to paste here let me know and I can help put it on a web site for you that we can link everyone to.

Really good story! It reminds me of a bull at the UTM Rodeo this year... he was just a little less rank than that lol but he had a tendancy of tryin to jump the gates into the crowd and he sure did try lol. It was fun though cause we were right there on the second row. Yeah, the riders are a good reason to go to a rodeo lol. I usually right poems but I think I might try a story.

Well if anyone else is interested in writing a story poem etc that they want posted go ahead and send it to me and I can add it to the page to keep all our 8 Second addiction member talent in one place. Also if you let me know it can be posted anonymously if you are shy, just let me know. If we get a lot of them we may post them a little differently so that they are easier for people to find and not as much scrolling is involved. Great story I really enjoyed it!

good story. at my local rodeo grounds another incident like that happened. once time a bull jumped out and got onto the highway that was by the arena. the outriders had to chase him for about a mile until they were able to get him roped and secured. it then took about a half hour until they could get him onto a trailer and back to the grounds. they had to stop traffic on both sides. it was a mess out there, lol. it has acutually happened a few times come to think of it.....

This is still untitled, but I wrote it in school today, while I should've been doing my homework:
You look out beyond you And observe the golden colors Everything you see Is moving in the wind
Cold chills run down your spine But you do not turn home There is a job for you And you cant go home alone
You're steed is now rested You hope he's feeling good Theres a long day ahead Just looking for the herd
Down the valley you go Slow & steady, never stopping You're life is in the horses "hooves" And your praying he wont trip
Searching, seeking, calling But noone is around Thats what you love about this job Everything is quiet and sound
Finally you reach the bottom And head to the water hole The herd is sure to be there Then you'll be on your way home
You reach your destination But still nothing can be seen You stop and ponder thoughtfully "Where could those darn cows be?"
Looking at the ground, You see signs of life But what's this? They're headed home?!
So it seems you came for nothin' The herd is already gone, They know winters a-comin' And soon it will be cold
Tell me what everyone thinks...
