sense of humor. I purchased a calf for my cow last night (a steal at $200 sense baby beef calves are selling from $350-$500, normal price is usually $150-$275, and dairy calves are selling for no less than $250), normally dairy calves are under $150). In a funny twist the ranch had its 5th set of twins(there are 3 herds here; my 9, Mom's 50 or so and Neal's(he leases the ranch) 140 or so) this morning(total of 2 lives sets(Mom's), 2 dead sets(Neal's), 1 kind of alive calf and one dead calf(mine)). Of course if I wouldnt have found this calf to buy we wouldnt have had a set of twins this morning...lol Now lets see if we can keep my premature live twin alive, he keeps on chugging along. Unfortunatly this is one of those you wish would die or have a miraculous recovery. Im not even sure if he should have lived this long in the first place being so premature. Tina
****little background here....one of my cows calved friday had a set of very premature twins(about 3-4 weeks) one was born dead the other well see above.

well, as of 4pm we are up to 6 sets of twins...thats right 2 live sets of twins to day...that makes 6 sets out of 26-30 cows. Final count....3 sets for Neal(2 sets died, one set aborted second set born dead, third set born at 4pm), 2 sets for my mom(one set born 10 days ago, one set born this morning), 1 set for me(1 dead, 1 barely alive, they where 2-4 weeks premature (born friday)....
