Chris LeDoux 1948-2005
To my hero,
It seems like yesterday that I heard you had passed away. It hit me like a brick wall, I couldn't believe it. I still don't. It doesn't seem like a year ago that we lost you. It's hard to believe that your gone when I listen to one of your CD's or watch one of your DVD's. I never got to meet you but I know there's a part of you in every rodeo, every ranch and every Cowboy that loved your music. I'm a lucky guy to have horses and live the cowboy life. Your songs meant so much to me and so many others. I will alway think of you when I hear "Tougher Than the Rest" or "the Ride". Seventeen always hand a special place in my hart and always will. Rodeo will never be the same. We'll miss you Chris. I'll never forget the memories. Thanks Cowboy.
This is what makes all the tough times worth while. The warm feeling you get after that good ride is worth more than all the prize money or the silver-mounted saddles or the trophy belt-buckles you'll ever win... except maybe for one... the big gold one that says, "PRCA World's Champion". - Chris LeDoux
Then Chris comes Blowing out with a smoking B-3 organ and flashpots-- and the crowd went nuts. We sat there with our mouths open... He's like a rocker with a Cowboy hat on. - Garth talking about Chris.
"What I want to be known for more than anything else is a good husband and a good family man". - Chris LeDoux
There's one more empty saddle in the barn, but one more good cowboy in heaven.
God Bless Chris LeDoux
