That is right with the 2005 finals just around the corner the 2006 season has already begun. The race to grab the most money before the first BFTS cuts is underway. The results from the first events are in. According to the PBR web site: PBR Enterprise Tour Open - American Royal/Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. Results: 1) Bowdy Peach (Mooreland, Okla.) 178.5 points, $10,867; 2) Tyler Smith (Fruita, Colo.) 172 points, $6,210; 3) Dustin Hall (Battlefield, Mo.) 89 points, $5,899; 4) Jacob DeWeese (Warren, Ind.) 88.5 points, $3,726;
U.S. Capitol Invitational - MCI Center in Washington, D.C. Results: 1) Jay Pahlke (Bismarck, N.D.) 161 points, $4,617; 2) Chance Robison (Colorado City, Colo.) 160.5 points, $3,350; 3) Rob Bell (Water Valley, Alberta, Canada) 80 points, $3,350; 4) Bo Crotta (Middletown, Md.) 79 points, $2,399.
Personally I was very excited to see Chance, Bowdy and Rob all picking up checks! It looks like a few new names to keep an eye on as well. I think the upcoming year is going to see even stronger competition on the CT, ET and Discovery tours as more and more talent riders join the PBR ranks. Just think a year ago of the riders that we will be watching in the finals that we had never even heard about!
