I was wondering what are some good books that all of you have read. I work at a preschool/daycare and when the kids are napping, I have nothing to do, but read. So, if you guys have any ideas or suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Well, I usually don't read unless I have too, lol. But, the last book I read was The Magic of Ordinary Days (by Ann Howard Creel). It was a fictional love story that was during the time of World war 2. I really enjoyed that book, so if you have any ideas similar to that, then that would be great. But I am also interested in reading anything new too, so i am open to anything.

I just finished reading "Gold Buckle Dreams". It's about Chris LeDoux's life on the rodeo circuit and his dreams of winning the buckle at the Finals. It's an easy read, and a quick one, too. Not much in this book about his music career, so if you want to know about that, you won't be finding it here. This is almost strictly about his rodeo years; hence the title.

well...im in an adv. english class...meaning i gotta to the whole summer reading list too....if you want something to read you can try these: "Gone with the Wind", " Animal Farm", "Pride and "Prejudice", and "Great Expectations".....ive only started "Gone With the Wind" its good so far but yall may have already read these. I personally have fell in love with a book called "Fever 1792" by Laurie Halse Anderson. Its about a girl in the yellow fever epidemic in the us and how she has to rely on herself and everything to get through. ITS A GREAT BOOK. Its not too long, but the story really stays with you...in fact i might read it again....its just that good.

I have to agree gold buckle dreams is a good one. I am also a big Steven King fan. I would highly recommend his gun slinger series, it is an amazing piece of writing and more fantasy then his traditional horror. Also he wrote 3 books that are more traditional fiction and not really horror: Hearts in Atlantis, Bag of Bones and The Girl who loved Tom Gordon.
If you are looking for short stories no one can beat Edgar Allen Poe. Fall of the House o Usher, Tell Tale Heart, Cask of Amontillado and Mask of the Red Death are my favorites.
Some other books I recommend, Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco, the Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley, Pride and Prejudice and Going after Cacciato.
I will post more when I think of them it is sort of hard to remember them when I am not at home to look at my book collection. I have a room that has 8 large floor to ceiling book cases that are full of books and am running out of room so I am sure i have missed a lot!

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I have not read any of those books yet, so I have a good selection to choose from! If you come across another good book, I would love to hear about it. Thanks again!
