So the world premier of Garth Brooks first song in years occurred today and the song is called good ride cowboy and is all about Chris LeDoux. When I first heard that he was releasing the song I was thinking a slower tear jerking ballad but it is not at all. It is a great up tempo song that highlights Chris's life and accomplishments and serves as a great tribute. Almost every line is a reference to Chris or one of his songs. I think a lot of people that are not familiar with Chris and his music and career will either miss that fact entirely or are scratching their heads as they listen to it. Our station has been playing it here about every 45 min so it is getting some great exposure. Has anyone else heard the song?

I haven't heard it yet! Here's an quick article about it. (Sorry to say, it doesn't sound like we should line up for the GB tickets just yet!) Garth Brooks Making Music Again POSTED: 11:00 am EDT October 6, 2005 NASHVILLE -- The retired guy is making music again. Lyric Street Records is pairing with Anderson Merchandisers to promote the Garth Brooks-Wal-Mart project. There was no word on how extensive that "project" will be. Right now, it's a single titled "Good Ride Cowboy." His spokesman said the song is Brooks' tribute to the late Chris LeDoux. Charlie Anderson of Anderson Merchandisers said it's "the song we've chosen to be the first because it symbolizes the project, which is about love and honesty." Fans have to read into the statement for themselves, as to whether that means a whole CD is coming. Brooks has said in the past that he's retired until his youngest daughter goes into college, which means about 10 more years.

I got on my favorite Texas radio station today via the internet (the Wolf out of Dallas/Ft Worth) and just caught the last, like, 20 seconds of the song! I suppose I'll hear it in the next day or two.......can't wait!

I heard it today. It's such a cool song. I knew he was coming out with one but I thought it was going to be a slow song too, but I like the up beat side. I really loved the song. It's a great tribute song to Chris. God Bless

I havnt heard it yet but please people do not think for a minute that garth will come back. He has done his time and all he might do is show up for a few of trisha yearwoods concerts as a guest guest appearance.
He does not like to tour anymore he said it himself.
