Hey guys....who do you guys think the front runner for Stock Contractor of the Year might be this year and why? I can't really decide but I gotta say my few top choices here:
D&H & Teague - a spectacular merger....great bulls all around (Mossy Oak Mudslinger, Western Wishes, etc.) that have power, and quite a few of these that the cowboys don't mind (or even like?) getting on. Great power.
Paradise Farms - they've had some great ones this year (especially in Camo, Slim Shady and the rookie Coffee Time), and they've hauled them as far east as Worcester and as far west as California! Now that's power.
Frontier Rodeo - Mr. Nelson is bringing up some more good bulls here in Bad Boys Toys, Just a Dream, Big Bucks, White Line Fever, Thunder River, Sudden Impact, the list goes on and on. Oh, and don't forget the old-timers Freckles and Clayton's Pet either.
I don't have a #1 pick yet (though I picked D&H & Teague seeing as I had to pick someone) but these guys are amongst my top choices. If I didn't list someone, tell me who you think that someone should be and why. Now....let's hear your ideas!

Well, first off, I think the front-runner is D&H and Teague just for obvious reasons.
But I have two that are my favorites.
First off, I love what Frontier Rodeo has done by bringing some very respectable and rank young bulls onto the scene. I think Big Bucks is a star in the making, and Just A Dream is a rider's nightmare. Sudden Impact and the others are awesome as well. Isn't Hurt So Good hauled by Frontier as well? If so, he hasn't been ridden ever I don't think.
Second, I think Paradise Farms has as strong of a herd than anyone right now. That is, if High Tide is being hauled to the events. He has been out for a little while doing his manly business I guess. But with him, Camo, and Slim Shady leading the pack, they are very formidable.
But when it comes down to it, it is tough to beat out the Pages and Tom Teague.
Nice topic and welcome aboard!

Yeah, I forgot about Hurt So Good (who is also owned by Frontier Rodeo) - and he hasn't been ridden, nope. They also haul Why Be Normal. I'm sure there are many bulls I forget to mention in my posts.
The Bergers? Well, besides ol' LYJ, you've gotta admire the bull power in bulls like Coyote, Huskers Red (who had a 47.0 in Nampa), Peacemaker, and LYJ's sons, Red Jacket and Huggy Bear (who had unfortunate foulings in Nampa recently).
Yeah, I wondered about High Tide too - he just disappeared after the Ty Murray Invitational (but still looked great, even out of the right-hand delivery). Thanks for filling us in on that.
I noticed I didn't put in Julio Moreno/Flying U, but they do have some great bulls (of course, like Werewolf and Reindeer Dippin', who I hope has a better trip next time he is out) too.

The contractors youve said so far i agree with. Especially page & teage and Paradise Farms. However, I have got to say something about Lufkin Ranch & Rodeo! They worked with the bulls and came out with some pretty good ones Of course i already am personally fond of them considering i used to live in lufkin. I cant help myself.

True! You put in bulls like Down Draft, Bean Town, Josey Wales, Black Bart, and Zorro (among others) and you have an impressive pen in Lufkin Ranch. I was lucky to get to see them live in New York when the PBR was here recently.

I think this year it is a easy pick. They (D&h and Teague) just have too many top bulls to compete with.

Oh puhleeze.........
The politics are here this is a non question.
Page and Teague
Mr. Teague and his status with PBR, the continuous and ridiculous fawning over LYJ.
Didnt Page win it last year? Mr. Teague bought himself into Stock Contractor of the year this year by hooking up with Page, I guarantee it. (Nothing taking away from the Pages who of course are tops in the game for a long time)
I would personally of the choices like to see Don Kish win it. This man IS the stock contractor of the century. A genetic genius with bulls. I would make Paradise my second choice.

One thing about Kish: we just need to see him at more events. He's got some great stock going, like that in Ugly, Wild Side, or Cash (until they retired him, that is). I know that D&H & Teague will be hard to beat but I think that Paradise and Frontier will give them a good run for their money.
