I was just wondering what happened to the bull they called Hammer? You still see all the plush toy hammers and plastic Hammers, But where is the real one?I know at one time they said he was sick or had some kind of infection. So what happened to him did he die or is he just not bucking up to par anymore.

Well, I'm not the one to answer this question, but I usually try to anyway. TexasRider9 or someone else will probably know for sure. I know he had gotten sick, but then he came back last year and had some great outs. One in particular was with Mike Lee. Hammer dominated Lee. Towards the end of the year, he really started getting covered every time out. And I believe he was covered at The Finals for an 80 or something. That definitely wasn't anywhere near his standards, and I don't believe he has been out this year. He may have been out early on, but I can't recall. I just don't think he has anything left in the tank. I don't think he is dead though.. Ok, I didn't help. Sorry.

I LOVE TONY SHARP AND HIS BULLS. HAMMER AND SLIDER BOTH HAVE BEEN GOING TO SMALLER EVENTS AS OF LATE HAMMER WAS LAST BUCKED IN MAY AT LIBERTY TEXAS AT A CBR EVENT OR EXTREME CAN'T REMEMBER AND THREW JW HART OFF IN 1.33 AND HAD A BULL RATING OF 47. I BELIEVE TO BE HONEST I DONT THINK TONY WANTS THE PBR TO TEAR UP HIS BULLS AKA WHAT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SAYING ABOUT THE BRAZILANS. SLIDER HAS ALSO BEEN BUCKING HE HAS BEEN TO THE BEAUMONT TX EVENT WHERE DAN HENRICKS RODE HIM FOR A 87.5 HE WAS ALSO IN COLUMBIA WHERE HE WENT UNRIDDEN.

Tony gave Hammer some time off and just as Cowboy Todd said he was at an event in Liberty Texas last month that I was at and he was awesome. He exploded out of the gate and drilled JW Hart and he got a 47.0 point bull score.

My understanding is the Hammer is bucking in the Challenger and, possibly, H&H tours in the PBR.

This is just me but I never really cared too much for Hammer--I always thought he was over-rated

Hi Grulla,
Hammer.... a bull why they tried to sell to the public as being the next best, greatest....
Ever hear bands called one hit wonders?
I believe Hammer will be at the PBR finals this year, they are going to ride in on him carrying the flag....... ;D

To be a one hit wonder in this line of work would be to buck off one guy and then be rode forever but hammer did not do that he went 23 straight outs before owen rode him and then he went 6 more then billy robinson got him but he has never been under 87 and has been as high as 92.5. He did have a bad trip this last march where he only scored 81.5 but hey they always have a bad day so please give the bull his due he is one of the greatest.
By the way rodeocowboy have you ever said anything positive about anything your last post have been degrating hammer, telling cody he was wrong, calling me stupid i mean hell get on the zyprexa and cheer up or leave i dont know about anyone but i am downright sick of it. Maybe no one else will say it but i will don't contradict people to contradict them have a point and validate your point though alot of the time validation process would stump you i bet.
No geeks please you also need to recognize the bull for what he is and that is great he threw off jw hart in 1.3 second making him look silly. My question to you would be is hammer that bad, oh by the way scored a 47, or was jw just having an off night.
I will remove that part of my message after he can answers the question. As a member here i nor do we have to deal with this.

Well, I'll just keep my comments to Hammer, and that is it for now.
I didn't see Hammer buck when he went 0 for 23 to start his career off. So he couldn't have been overrated during that time. But ever since I started watching at the beginning of 2004, he has had maybe 2 or 3 good trips. So I think he may be overrated now, but that is just due to the announcers making it that way. It's not his fault.
But hopefully he is going to have a resurgence and will have some more 47's. A 47 once out of 10 trips don't make the bull great, that's for sure. Consistency is what makes the bulls great.
And Todd, you said he had that one 81.5. That is all that shows up on the bull's list of scores. There are more on there where they got a reride and didn't take the score. I know he had two or three trips in a row where he was low 80s.

Was anyone else there in Liberty? The bull was a 45 in my opinion and only that because he threw JW so quick. The times he was 92 or so when Owen Washburn was on him...those were reputation points as I see it. Now hes just a nice bull to get on
