That is awful news! I had noticed him losing a step since earlier in the season, and I guess we know why now.
As a huge fan of the bulls, I always hate to hear about bulls dying. And this was a very solid one at that.

What a tradgedy. I pick him as one of the best young bulls with a bright future. What a shame he would have been special oh well stuff happens and the bergers and teague's must move on i notice a disturbing trend i wonder if the supplements and other nutriton products they use is leading to the bulls problems and lack of consistency. but to have hotel california die now grey cat who's next someone needs to take a look to see why this is happening.

i might be wrong, but i had heard that hotel california had a rare blood disease. I heard he had actually lived years longer than expected (other bulls on the ranch had it too and died much sooner) and that was his cause of death. you could very well be on to something though. I sure would hate to find out that the stuff they give them help could actually turn around and bite'em in the butt!

yeah, hotel califonia had johnes disease. most of the time the end up dying or being put down. not alot survive. that show that he was a fighter. there was no way to know that he had an absess around unless they had ran tests on him. it is just one of those things that happen. if they were to have bulls dying left and right, then yeah look into it. it is sad that is happened to them , that they lost two good bulls, but like the saying says, sh*t happenes.

Wes said that he could have had the abcess for a long time. Hotel California might have died of kidney failure. The Pages had an autopsy done, but I gues they never released the results.
