The rodeo attitude board is down and accourding to what I read......from the hyperboard staff..
No word from rodeo attitude yet
We are currently looking into hardware problems with Server 3 which has resulted in the current downtime. As soon as we have more information we will add it to this thread.
Apologies for the inconvenience this situation has no doubt caused.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is some seriously bad news pertaining to Server 3 that everyone needs to know about. But before I tell you I want to make it clear that:
1. It was out of our control (and obviously it wasn’t on purpose)
2. We did everything we could to remedy the situation
Having said that, here’s the bad news (and I don’t mean to put it so plainly as I know this is a big deal). Last night Server 3 experienced some major hard drive issues and as a result, forum data, forum backups, statistics, scripts, html files, and a lot of my personal data was completely wiped. Again, Martyn, Aplus (the host for the server) and I devoted the majority of last night trying to retrieve the lost data.
Despite our efforts it all comes down to the fact that all Server 3 data is gone. There are no off-site backups.
We know you’re mad. We know you’re disappointed. We apologizing for not taking more elaborate steps in making sure there was no loss of data. It’s not our fault that the data has been lost, but we take full responsibility for not having off-site backups for Server 3. We are very upset with what’s happened as well and this will never happen again.
We understand if members from Server 3 wish to no longer use the Hyperboards service because they’ve lost their forum. No one from Server 3 is at fault and you shouldn’t have had this happen to you. We’re extremely upset with the loss, and upset with ourselves for not being able to prevent complete data loss. Thus in addition to extending our condolences, we’d like to offer anyone who was on Server 3 half a year of ad-free if they signup again and try to rebuild their forum. We will be setting up a system to deal with this very soon (most likely with V2 release in a few days time).
We know that nothing can bring back your forum, but maybe this will be a way to help you rebuild. Again, we’re sorry that you’d have to rebuild at all, and we’ll make sure this never happens again.
