The event that we all have been waiting for is coming! At this years Calgary Stampede there will be a “bull extravaganza.” According to Maverick on the PBS board “It will feature Top 4 CFR riders, top 10 from the PBR, top 10 from the PRCA, plus 6 other guys. Lots of money to win, no entry fees, $1000 show up pay.”

For those of you who do not know the Calgary Stampede use to be one of the richest PRCA rodeos, however, the PRCA cut ties with the CFR earlier this year. As a result, Calgary is now a stand alone rodeo. The PBR has also taken steps to assure that all the PBR riders are able to participate by agreeing to allow stock holders to participate even though it is not a PBR event.

So I call that this years 8 Second reunion officially get moved to Calgary! I can not wait to find out the details and dates so I can try to rearrange my vacation time accordingly.

Top 4 CFR
Top 6 PBR
Top 6 NFR
4 invitational picks of Calgary's choosing (may be Rodeo Royal winners, or contestants who qualified but could not compete at CFR/NFR due to injury.)

Only 20 contestants per event. Split into A and B pools. Pool A competes first 4 days, pool B competes next 4 (one head each day). Payout $10,000 per day, per event.

Wild Card round on Saturday for bottom 6 finishers in A and B pools. Payout $20,000 per event.

Semi-final round on Sunday for top 4 finishers in A and B and top 2 wild cards. The Final Showdown will take the top 4 as always. Winner on Sunday gets $100,000 in each event. Further payouts in the showdown are something like second $25,000, third $15,000, 4th $10,000.

It sounds like a heck of an event to me.
