Just heard some really sad news... In the short-go of the Greensboro NC event this past weekend, Cat Daddy was caught in the shoot after the ride and broke his leg. He'll be out for the season and maybe permanantly:(

This is indeed terrible news. I loved watching that bull buck! He was definitely one to have but was also a rank dude. I'll miss seeing him. Hopefully they can save him, and if nothing else, have him be a breeder....
....and I can't help but think that those fools from PETA and/or SHARK will have a field day with this incident. I hope not....I'm so sick of them. Not that I ever liked them in the first place, either.
This is a big loss for the PBR. I'm definitely sad to hear this.

From a post on The Breeders' Connection by his owner, Cat Daddy is going to survive, but his bucking career is, in all likelihood, over. They applied a cast to the leg today. Barring some terrible complications, there will be many Cat Daddy, Juniors who will hopefully have their sire's bucking ability.

I saw him catch his leg in the fence and wrench it while bucking off the rider. It makes me sick to think of poor Cat Daddy in pain. I feel as bad as if it had happened to one of my beloved dogs. If only that fence (or gate?) was solid with no rails, or real narrow or large openings between the rails, his leg wouldn't have gotten caught.

It happened again last Sunday in round 3 in CT. A bull bucked out of the gate with the rider and wrenched his leg in-between the rails on the fence. It looked even worse than Cat Daddy's accident. I wish they would put up boards so this couldn't happen.
