Justin McBride Day in Elk City, OK 12/21/05

I just read the Elk City (OK) Daily News Paper and there is an article that reads as follows:

Reception to Honor Famed Bull-Rider Justin McBride

The Elk City Chamber of Commerce and the City of Elk City has joined with Mayor Teresa Mulligan in declaring next Wednesday (12/21/05), Justin McBride Day.

The Professional Bull Rider World Champion will be honored with a reception at the Old Town Museum (for those of you that know where the park is it is west of there and east of Wal Mart) Opera House from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday.

Refreshments will be served and McBride will be available to visit and sign autographs.

The Public is Invited.

I am going to try to make it myself! I have never met him and he lives near my families farm north of Sayre.

I wanted to share thought there may be some of you that may be able to come. Hope you can.

Holly, I thought you & Cody might come over for this. I think I am going to take Jillian's stuffed Blueberry Wine and have him sign it for her. Did he ever even ride Blueberry Wine? Just wondering if anyone knew. I know they have the little Justin McBride figurines at Elks Atwoods, guess I could get one of those and have him sign it.

I thought there may be a few of us that might make it. I will have to rush there & then leave, I guess you will probably be working at that time. Can't you take vacation Holly! ha!

Julie, girl I dont know about a vacation. I took off at 11:30 on Friday:) and am taking off early on this Friday too. But take pictures and stuff. And Cody said that Justin never rode Blueberry...

Justin has attempted to ride BBW but got bucked off at least 4 times... He never got a qualifyed ride on him. When Justin was interviewed about BBW he said something like ... I've had him 4 times and don't even think I lasted a combined 8 seconds on him.

I live close to Justin McBride and it looks like I will miss him again. My daughter has to be at a church play, she is the angel, and I will not be able to go. I do hope he does another signing in town sometime. If anyone gets to go let me know. It is only for 2 hours or I could make it.
