This from the PBR release about the Minneapolis event? Is Justin not riding? Why would you fail to mention your defending world champion?
The world's top 45 bull riders will compete including two-time PBR world champions Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Chris Shivers (Jonesville, LA); along with bull riding sensations Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colorado), the 2005 PBR Rookie of the Year; Guilherme Marchi (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil), the 2005 PBR World Finals Event Winner; and Cody Whitney (Asher, Okla.), winner of the 2005 Brent Thurman and Lane Frost Award for the highest marked ride of the 2005 PBR World Finals.

That is the rumor going around Gus. They originally had his name as signing autographs for the New Year's Eve after party.. and now it is mysteriously missing. I have read elsewhere that there is a rumor that he is using his championship exemption. But again, these are only rumors... I guess we will know when the draws are up.

The PBR website has a banner promoting the MPLS event. Earlier this morning, it featured a picture of Justin. Now it's been changed to a picture of Adriano. Something is definitely up.

So you don't have to ride if you are a past World Champion? If that is the rule, then I guess he can do what he wants. It's always nice to have a defending champion in the draw, however. They didn't even mention Mike Lee, sorry suckers.

yeah, thats the rule..remember how other past Champs wasn't in the top 45 and rode in some events last year....And with the points like they are, now (so many points being awarded at the finals) they can sit out alot of events and still win another Championship..I dont like it either but... I personally dont think we will see alot of Justin, this year...Thats just my opinion..

Yeah, World Champions don't have to ride. The biggest example of this is/was Troy Dunn. He used to come here, win enough money to make finals and head back to Australia. We also saw this come into play with Chris Shivers in 2004, after his shoulder injury he came back and didn't win enough to make finals. If it is into the season (like Chris and Troy Dunn in 2004) the PBR will usually have the 45 guys on tour plus the World Champs. So there were a couple events in 2004 where 47 guys competed and some events last year where more than 45 competed. They don't bump guys off tour for the World Champs, in most cases.
It is worth pointing out the exemption does not work at finals. If they do not have the $$$$ to qualify then they aren't allowed to compete at finals.
It is also good to point out that they cannot skip a PBR event for another organizations event.

Well it's official... Draw is up and NO JUSTIN.
Looks pretty good... we got a lot of injury guys back and it's nice to see B-rich on the draw.

Looks like Willis is back after his suspension...Or I presume it was a suspension.

The draw looks great. I can not wait to see the competition! In addition to seeing B-Rich and Willis' name on the draw I am always glad to see Rocky's as well!
