Every season, we get our hopes up for certain riders to have good years. Which rider has been the biggest disappointment in 2008?
The obvious choice here is Matt Bohon. I had him just outside my top five at the beginning of the year, and he has had a crummy season by his standards. He has made a slight comeback on the lower tours (enough to make it to the PBR Finals), but his BFTS performance hasn't been very solid at all. He is one of my favorites, and I'll definitely keep cheering him on regardless of the results.
Which other riders come to mind in this category?

You took the words right out of my mouth! I am a huge Bohon fan (to the point I named my kitten Matti Bo ) and hate to see him struggle...
Another one is Colby Yates, I love the guitar man, I was hoping for him to have a better year this year. He's currently 16th in points with a 38% riding average, which isn't bad, but I think that he could defianately be a top 10 if not higher rider if he was on his game!

I was watching last night and trying to see what else came to mind, but in all honesty, I think Matt owns this category. He seems like such a nice guy and a great rider, so seeing him struggling has been rough.
I'm going to add a "can't be controlled" one: Paulo Crimber. There seem to have been more worse accidents this year than last, but his just kills me. I hope to see him again soon--in any capacity.

Put me on the list that feels Matt is the biggest disappointment of the year. He was 7th last year and I figured this would be a sign of things to come - unfortunately it led to buckoff after buckoff, no top finishes, getting cut off the tour (I'd never have guessed that would happen), etc. I'm glad he's going to the Finals this year at least, but I really hope he can straighten things out come next year. But I was sure he was going to be a contender this year.

How about Travis Briscoe? Maybe he just peaked early, but I expected a whole lot more from him.

I was disappointed that Cory Rasch & Matt Bohon didn't do well and Paulo's injury freaked me out. At least he's walking and talking - thank God. I was also bummed that Wiley and Mike W. didn't do better in the finals.
