I just watched the second performance from Huron, SD this morning, and 396 Shakedown had one of the rankest trips I've seen in 2008 in any organization. This is a bull owned by Benny Cude, and he was electric! I looked up his stats at ProBullStats.com, and the last one registered was a 47 point bull score from a PBR lower tour a couple months ago.
This bull is definitely new to the scene, but I hope to see him more in the CBR and PBR. Did anyone else see this trip from the South Dakota event?

I just saw this bull again while watching the Bossier City CBR event, and he was just as good as the trip in Huron. Fans need to start taking notice because this one is becoming one of the top bulls in the country.
Between Cochise and Shakedown, the CBR has a couple of the best bovine athletes going.

I've always been impressed by the CBR bulls. I don't think they get enough credit, and Jeff Medders and Tuff Hedeman do a great job announcing. Other great CBR bulls: Twigs & Berries, Hasta Luego and Itch & Scratch.

Twigs & Berries caught my eye, too. Another one that's been bucking the CBR cowboys off regularly is Apollo.

Yeah, Apollo was still a classic bull this season as well, so he is only 4 years old or so. He will probably keep on getting better as he continues to fill out a little. He is fun to watch for sure. I also noticed how many above-average bulls Owen Washburn has assembled. His pen isn't very big, but every one of them is solid each time out. That's nice to see. I'm not looking forward to the break between now and the next event in early January. It almost seems like the CBR could pile some events in the last two months (other than the weeks of the NFR of course), since the PBR has zero during that time. I'm sure some PBR guys might even come over and ride. It's food for thought anyway.

I get so excited talking about these up and coming bulls!!!! I don't know what it is. I mean, most don't have the sweetest personalities, and you certainly can't cuddle with them. Even so, hearing about good bulls likely to become great really helps make my season. Certainly the performances of these younguns like Shakedown, Crosswired in the PBR, Apollo, Twigs and Berries, to name a few, are ones to look out for in 2009.

Another bull I've enjoyed seeing lately, especially tonight during the Santa Maria telecast, is Hasta Luego. He's rank, but if you can get past him, you'll score big. He's one to watch too.

Most of those bulls will get there shot at the big show...Allen Murphy has a pretty good pen that goes to a lot of CBR's and has been invited to 2-3 BFTS events this year. The others will usually get bought by Chad Berger. Some of them will be stars and some won't be able to take it because if they come to the BFTS events for very long they WILL get rode. BTW, Appollo went to quite a few ABBI/PBR classic events this year. I saw him at Sulphur Springs and also at Decatur I believe.

Yeah, I was hoping to see him in Vegas, but I guess Alvin Jones didn't want to haul him there. He was in the top five or six in the yearly standings heading into The Finals, so he was deserving of getting an out or two in Vegas. He has slowed down a little later in the year, however, so who knows...
