Today I read how NFL players are going to donate their brains for concussion research, and that the NFL is supporting this. Considering the amount of concussions bull riders receive I think that it would be great for the PBR to support this important study if they are not already doing so. A quote from the article- "Doctors see sports-related brain trauma as a growing health crisis due to the discovery of the neurodegenerative disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy in a number of athletes who have recently died. The condition is caused by repetitive trauma to the brain." Here is a link to the article posted today www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,550004,00.html?test=latestnews Does anyone know if the PBR is a participant in this at this time?

Sadly (thanks to Comcast) I can no longer even watch the PBR, much less keep up with the medical news. It does look like an interesting study though.

I believe I read an article (awhile back) either on the PBR website or in the magazine that Tandy is actually doing a similar study on bull riders. Not sure if it's part of this one or if it's a seperate study.
And appropriately, the Matt Bohon article the PBR just put up on the site goes into this. They said it could be 6 months before he no longer feels the effects of his wreck in San Antonio, although he's clear to ride.
