How about that Brian Canter (or as my fingers like to type Brain)? Squishy puffy cheeks and all he's proved - in my opinion - that he's here to stay. He put 88.75 big ones on Scardy Cat last night and then claimed the Mossy Oak Shootout on Huskers Red (the bull that denied Cody Whitney last weekend in Minneapolis). If everything that he needs to work out does what do you think his chances are of being Rookie of the Year, or even bigger, maybe work his way up to the #1 spot (it is only the third event of the season...it could happen)? I tell you what....I am really impressed with this kid...I have a feeling we need to watch out for this kid!!! Of course you never know..He may sizzle out just like Jake McIntyre!! But I hope not..I just love little Brian!! I hope he continues out the weekend as well as last night!!

I really like him too. I saw him for the first time in Asheville NC and was very impressed plus he has a great teacher in Jerome Davis..Its been a while since we have had a great bullrider from NC.. Im in Brian's corner all the way..

I'm not too sure Brian is considered a rookie this year since he was on tour and made the finals last year. But I am pretty sure he is going to be around awhile.

I think he is still eligable for the Rookie title. He only competed at finals and was an alternate at that. He was never on tour before that and was 46th going into finals but someone had an injury and never competed at finals so Canter rode the whole two weeks. I believe to be considered for the rookie race, you have to compete in X amount of events in one season (like 3 or something like that).
