I think it is every 3 months they make the cut.

I was wondering that myself. So when will be the first/next?

I thought it was every 5 events. I don't know when the first one is, however, but I do believe the subsequent ones after that are every 5 event. I'm pretty sure Kelly knows the answer to this one. I remember talking to her about it one time.

You are correct it is after every fifth event. Per the PBR Web Site:
Hope this helps!

I know one thing: Mike Lee better ride something in the next two events, or he may be heading back to the CT. :/ Edit: Well, I just looked at the standings, and there are quite a few guys below Mike Lee. So he may be ok, but he still needs to get going or have the surgery. Then again, he could just use the world champ exemption. I always forget that one.

Thanks, everyone. It looks like a few need to pick things up.

Isn't the first one after the 7th event and then every 5 events? or did they just do that last year? Oh well, the PBR changed things again!

Cody- Mike Lee can't get cut.... neither can any other world champion for that matter. The championship exemption allows all world champs to stay on tour excpet they HAVE to qualify for finals or stay home.
However, a lot of good guys are in jeopardy right now.. Brendon Clark, Sean Willingham, Lee Akin, Renato Nunes Da Rosa, Cory Navarre, etc...

Plus they cut riders 36-41 instead of 40-45. They are pretty unclear about when they cut or what they base the cut upon (money or points)

I knew you would be all over it Kelly!

I saw that.. I just wanted to explain your exemption comment a little further since we do have "new" bull riding fans they may not have understood.

I agree about Mike Lee, he really seems to be in a slump. That shoulder thing must be still bother him, and guess its hard for him to get on that roll again...........Hope he can ride better in the upcoming events.......Lonny

Hey everyone...sorry I haven't posted in FOREVER! I've been so busy!!!
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that at the Mohegan Sun Rider's Meeting, they let the riders know that the first cut will take place at OKC this year. They are doing this because next week, there are two events in one weekend, so they decided to not make the cut on the fifth event, like usual. After that, though, it should stay on track...every five events.
Also, I was talking to Mike and Jamie Lee at Minneapolis and Mike had just recieved news from Dr. Tandy. He had an MRI the week before and the results were not good. He said something about some bones floating around and possible another tear in the tendon that Tandy repaired last year. Mike did not say if he was going to have another operation, so I'm not sure what the plans are. Just thought you all might like to know.
God bless, Amanda

God bless, Amanda Amanda, thank you very much for the update on both the cut and Mike Lee. That is awful news about Mike. I just knew he wasn't healthy. He is far too talented to be bucking off so much lately. I would rather him have the surgery again rather than let it become worse. He needs to have it and come back later in the year. It's just a tough break for sure.
