replace him. When we lost Greg, they went to the CBR so if they do that again i would love to see Darrell Diefenbach. He is always right there and since Frank left he has started to establish his own little following. I like him and i think he would do great. Shorty is also great but i think Darrell is the man.
Any other opinions?

Frank wasn't just CBR... he used to do the freestyle at the PBR and I have seen him do a few events other BFTS events, he just wasn't one of the guys voted on by the riders to be at every event.
My pick is Dennis Johnson...I think he does a good job. Right now the three "official" guys are Smets, Joe and Frank. Greg was 4th after finals and Dennis was 5th.

Dennis Johnson!! I would love to see Dennis, Joe and Rob out there together...but when Smet's retires, I would also love to see Frank replace him so it would be: Frank, Joe, and Dennis.

Dennis will probably get it but he already does challenger and pbr so it wouldnt be a change. I want somebody new. I hear it coming already well the riders will vote for DJ. Maybe not, we never know i would like a change.
By the way since you are into #'s where did newsom fit in there after the finals. He wasn't even on the tour so was it Joe, Rob Greg, dennis and frank or what. I need some insight. this is confusing me.

Im confused.....I didnt know that Frank and Darrell were regulars at the CBR? I know they work ALOT of the top PRCA shows. I see Dennis and Frank being regulars on the PBR tour. Joe is getting up there in age to, not sure how long he tends to keep workin, or how many PBR events he wants to do. He sure does a great job. Shorty is a great hand also. Theres alot of great young guns out there, that would sure want a shot. I know I would come out of retirement to work the shows.......LOL...but......thats just me.

I am sorry, i did not know that the cbr prca was split. I think alot of the people out there are confused about that. My point was i would like to see those two. I never knew that asking a question and saying cbr would cause such turmoil. I know that they work alot of PRCA events and that was what i was trying to say.I thought it was all one orginazation Oh well That shows how much i know. Thanks for straightning me out.

I don't know #1-3 but it doesn't matter because 1-3 make up the regulars and those are Joe, Rob and Frank.
Immediately after finals the riders vote for the bullfighters they want to see on tour. Frank fought at finals this year because of other bull fighters being injured. He impressed the riders so much that he was voted one of the top three. Greg Crabtree was 4th (so we wouldn't have seen him on tour regularly this year) and Dennis was voted 5th. I know when I was at finals watching it live, I was really impressed with Frank as well.
Honestly, I don't really care who replaces Rob because no one will be able to fully take his spot. I just hope they are good and save some cowboys.

Rob may never be able to be replaced but there are so many great bullfighters that it will be a painless transition. I love Rob and it is his time to go. His family means alot and it is good to see him go out on his terms.
Frank is a great bullfighter, you (cowgirl) make it sound like i was putting him down. The way he fights bulls is great and he has alot of repect from the riders as you so, in your own little way, said. This was simply ment to get a feeler on who everybody would like to see. I cannot believe that there is only one guy that everyone wants. There are so many great ones.
I guess this thread has gone bad. I feel so stupid asking such an idiotic question.

It hasnt gone bad, its just people expressing their opinions. Dont feel stupid for asking a question. It was/is a good question.

I hope you dont think I was bieng mean by what I said. I wasnt putting anyone down, I didnt mean for it to sound like turmoil. I was confused by the question, cuz I didnt know they were working CBR events. Then after your reply, I understand that you had the misunderstanding that they were the one and the same. Ive known Frank for close to 12 yrs now, and he has always been a great bullfighter, freestyle and protection. He used to work the PBR alot back when the PBR got started. He even worked the NFR back in the late 90's, as protection and freestyle.

What the heck? I didn't say anything about your post and was stating my opinion. Rob will never be replaced, IMO... I could care less how you feel about Rob or even if you were putting him down (it would be YOUR opinion) and yes I know you weren't.
Like I said I don't really care who takes over after Rob retires as long as he is good at his job (this is MY OPINION). I find it hard to really think about this topic when Rob still has 9 months and anything could happen at this point. Shoot, he could even decide not to retire?!?! You never know. I am not saying anything bad about your picks but unless they are seen by the BFTS riders they won't be voted for and then of course some may be happy with where they are now and may not want to switch organizations.

Cowgirl: I thought that this was a message board. I was simply asking a question after getting the retirement news. I just wanted to know what "others" thought. I know it is a while away but, Rob will be taking time off to get others a look at the PBR. That is all. I dont feel others are taking it so personal. I like Rob alot and I dont want to see him go but, it is his time and he will leave on his terms. Like I said, I just put a feeler out. I know you could careless, as most of your points seem to mention, but there are 146 other members on this board. So please allow this to be a forum .

Dennis Johnson. I like him and loved his beard, short lived though it was.
