Wow... I can't wait for this event... There are 5 or 6 new guys I've never seen before. Plus 4 or 5 PRCA guys. Should make for an interesting event! YEAH!!!

I just looked at the draw and I am really excited for this weekend. I have seen several of the riders that drew in from their CT standings and I can not wait to see them ride in the BFTS.
First it is great to see both Colby and Cord in the draw. Both have shown they are really sticky riders that really give it their all every out. If they are focused this weekend they are going to leave with checks in hand. It will help that some of the other guys that they are use to seeing will be standing behind the chutes with them. They are also good to the fans so it will be great to have them on tour.
I was also super excited to see Willy Ropp's name on the list. I can not wait for you to all see him! As I said before he is not only a great rider but also has a unique flair to him.
Sam Medlock is certainly not a new rider on the scene (he qualified for the world finals in 1997!) but due to a lot of injuries it has been a while since we have seen him on tour. He was also in Nashville this past week and riding well. He tends to cover his bulls but does not quite have the flair of some of the other riders. He is the dangerous one ... he just quietly goes out there and gets it done.
I saw Robson Palermo win the Cedar Rapids ET, Beau Hill finished second to Colby in Nashville even in light of not having "perfect" bulls. Kyle Cudmore is a very consistent rider I have seen a few times and I saw Tyler Smith ride very well with a lot of heart in Madison.
It is so exciting to see these guys on the BFTS tour. They have battled really hard the last few months to make it. For those of you that don't know on every tour but the BFTS all expenses and entry fees are the responsibility of the riders. Many of these guys have been riding on Friday night at one event and driving through the night to make another event on Saturday. They then normally pay about $200 in entry fees to get on the bulls and most of the riders each night walk away without a dime. They also have to "draw in" to the events. So just because they want to attend an event does not mean that they will make it. Many of these guys show up with nothing more then alternate status hoping that one of the guys will not show up so they have the chance to get on the bull and make back the cost of getting to the event. These guys are coming on to tour very hungry. If they can keep their nerves in check it maybe a shocking weekend for the PBR regulars as they see a long list of new names and faces on the leader board.
Finally, I want to say it is great to see Helton's name on the draw too! He has been gone too long!! Looks like we have some great bulls to match-up with the riders too! Man fantasy is going to be tough this weekend!

I will have the fantasy up tonight!!  Since it is in Portland. I am giving the event to Ross!!! It will be good to see the new guys too though! |

i hope it is better than last year. a friend of mine went to it and said that it was real bad so i didnt end up buying tickets so i guess i will see if it was a good decision or not

My husband and I are going on Saturday night, will let you know how it goes. Been away from the sport for a few years, so I'm pretty excited about going this year. |

Saturday was a blast! The Rose Garden had a nice strong crowd of fans present. Flint was hilarious to see in action. Wow hard to type something up without spoiling anything, so will leave it as.. Had a great time, we'll definitely be going again next year. ;D
