Well Lee Akin and Clint Craig are the only to BFTS regulars who will compete in the Xtreme Bulls or Reno Rodeo over the next two weeks. Lee is in the Xtreme Bulls, while Clint is in the rodeo. However, Chris Shivers, Mike White, Owen Washburn, Rob Smets and Ross Coleman are all competing in a big amateur team roping that is going on next Wednesday. Tuff is also entered and will be roping with his son, Lane. Mike White is roping with his wife, Hannah. I hope they win the whole darned thing. The winning team gets $100,000 each. It's the richest amatuer roping in the world. It will be fun to watch.

Thanks for informing us of this information. Lee Akin is our hometown boy so we always try to keep up with what he is doing. It is nice to see some of the other guys there too. I think it is interesting that Tuff and his son will be there since everything happened. I guess you can't turn your back completely:) I also hope Mike White does well. I am glad to see him back in any action. We have missed him riding at the events..
Keep us informed on what happens. Thanks for posting...

If only they were in high school and lived in Tennessee. I'm still lookin for a team ropin partner so I can join. Tuff could move over here so me and Lane could rope. I wouldn't mind that. I think I've about got my friend to say yes. God bless yall!

This roping isn't for PBR riders. It is the Bob Fiest roping that is held in conjunction with Reno Rodeo every year. Tuff has roped in that roping in years past as well as those other guys too.

The Bob Feist Roping is for the pros.
The roping that Tuff and the PBR guys are in is called the Reno Rodeo Invitational Team Roping. It's an amateur event, but it has a $1 million total purse.
I've seen the entry list:
Tony Mendes is roping with his dad, Alan.
Ross Coleman is roping with bareback rider Bobby Mote.
Rob Smets is roping with Owen Washburn
Tuff is roping with his son, Lane.
Mike White is roping with his wife, Hannah.
Chris Shivers is roping with Bubba Cochran.
It will be fun to see how they do. I talked to Mike White at last year's event and he said he's more nervous backing into the team roping box than he is getting on a bull.

Mike and his wife won about $8,000 yesterday at the Reno Rodeo Invitational Team roping. That's pretty awesome.
I haven't seen the complete results, but Ross Coleman did tell me that Mike gets the bragging rights for all the PBR guys entered. Ross and Bobby Mote didn't win anything, but Ross said he'll be back next year.

What team roping were you talkin about Gus? Was it the BFI? Holly and Cody, talked to Lee the other day and he said over the 4th of July he is gonna be in Calagary. Not sure where he is headed after that.

No, it wasn't the BFI. That was held on Monday and won by Clay Tryan and Patrick Smith.
The event the PBR guys were in is called the Reno Rodeo Inivtational Team Roping. It's for amateurs, but has a huge purse.

I'm not 100% on this but doesn't Jody Newberry Team rope? I thought I heard some where that he did. Just thought I would throw that in. God Bless

I know Ross roped in the BFI last year, cant remember where he ended up at though or who he roped with.
